Hunt Oil Co. has agreed to begin oil exploration in Iraq.
Dallas-based Hunt's subsidiary, Hunt Oil Co. of the Kurdistan Region, has signed a production contract with the Kurdistan Regional Government covering exploration activities.

Hunt Oil says it is partnering with Impulse Energy Corp. on the project, in which Hunt will be the operator. Impulse is a Canada-based private company that invests in energy companies.
Hunt says it will begin geological survey and seismic work by the end of the year and plans to be in a position to drill its first exploration well in 2008.
Financial terms were not disclosed. A Hunt spokeswoman was not immediately available.
The Iraqi government is furious saying the Kurds law is subservient to the Iraqi ministry law? Its in the constitution for the Kurds. So how is it that an oil revenue sharing agreement will ever be reached. It will not. Hunt Oil is a Bush cronie company- all the good ole Texas boys. The Kurds are moving ahead, getting wealthy and could care less if Iraq ever reunites. The longer they fight the better.
