Ok here's my idea folks!

I'm going to start this off, I encourage others to join.

I will provide an item, not junk mind you but something people might actually want. I will post pictures of the item, along with a starting bid. All you have to do is respond with the amount you are willing to donate to the campaign for the item. When the maximum bid is settled on, donate your money to the campaign, provide your confirmation number and your confirmation email and I will ship the item to the address you PM me.

Most of the items I'll be offering will be computer related because that's the business I deal in. Ok good luck.

Maybe we should have our own section for this?

Oh! Also every winner gets free slim jims!

Wow!! That's all I can say here, wow!

Ok well I'll try another item tomorrow and if no one bids on that I guess I'll abandon this little idea.....

I'm shocked!!! I mean hell we were all gung ho about giving to the campaign while getting nothing in return but here I'm offering a free computer just for donating to the campaign! Sometimes I wonder if people just don't read the posts or something.

I would have given you $25. If you go to eBay I'll start off the bidding there. Just post an auction number.

I don't want $25, please read the directions.........

MAYBE YOU THINK I WANT MONEY, that's not the case PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS.

I DON'T WANT MONEY FROM YOU!

I WANT YOU TO BID WITH AN AMOUNT AND THE WINNING BIDDER WILL DONATE THE AMOUNT TO THE CAMPAIGN!

Sorry maybe that's why no one is paying attention to the thread, I don't want your money, I want you to send the winning bid to the campaign. How would I do this on Ebay without paying them stinking fees and then I wouldn't be able to send any money to the campaign because I've already hit the limit.

I thought about making a bid for this so that I could have an extra *nix box, but I don't really have the cash for it.

I'd just like to say though... I think that this is a great idea. However, I think you need to make the items you auction a bit more mainstream. I don't know how many people on this forum can actually setup a machine from raw components for themselves. Maybe things that require a bare minimum of end-user experience would be better. Simple stuff like USB hard drives, that kinda thing.

Thanks for the comment these are the kinds of suggestions I was looking for, if nothing happens with this auction I have several other items I can put up.

If I get a few more messages like this, I'll take this product down early.

DjLoTi
09-16-2007, 01:45 PM
Yeah it's really nice sounds clean... I hardly ever play it, it just is in its case...

Back in the day I was really into it but lost interest... now I'm into DJing and I have turntables, the guitar is worth more to me sold then unplayed, there's no way I'm picking up guitar again I'm way more too focused into other things

But ya it sounds really good i like the sound of the fender strat, it's clean and smooth.

Well it looks like you win, but it's up to you to find that supporter. Donate the $100 to the campaign and copy paste your confirmation # and the email with the amount. Then PM your address to me and I'll send it all to you! I'm still waiting on the slim jims.

I'm going to build a semi-portable system with some other spare stuff I have here so that we can take this around to folks to register/vote for Dr. Paul via West Virginia's online elections. Before, we'd been looking at telling those people to go to the library or whatever; but this will be nice especially for elderly who can't leave their homes as easily.

If this is going to be a regular thing, maybe we can get it pinned so we don't have to dig around for it or keep bumping it?

If anyone has a USB external hard drive they want to auction, I'll put in a bid- I was going to buy one anyway- better to send it to Ron Paul than Best Buy...
