he just said he's not running for re-election in 2010...
he looks like he's going to be retiring after making several
critical senate votes over the enxt two years. was he anticipating
either a strong republican or strong democrat as a challenger as the times
get even more dire? there is something ruggedly difficult underneath this all now...
