The best way to destroy the capitalist system is to debauch the currency.

Another good one from that page: "Fascism is capitalism in decay."

Lenin made some huge logical leaps. Of course the premise of his entire philosophy was incorrect: that imperialism is the final stage of capitalism.

I find the idea of a "final stage" of capitalism laughable myself.

Another gem is Lenin's Hanging Order (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenin%27s_Hanging_Order), which he directed at a population of peasants (Kulaks) in order that the Bolsheviks could confiscate their grain without further resistance:

Comrades! The insurrection of five kulak districts should be pitilessly suppressed. The interests of the whole revolution require this because 'the last decisive battle' with the kulaks is now under way everywhere. An example must be demonstrated.

* 1. Hang (and make sure that the hanging takes place in full view of the people) no fewer than one hundred known kulaks, rich men, bloodsuckers.
* 2. Publish their names.
* 3. Seize all their grain from them.
* 4. Designate hostages in accordance with yesterday's telegram.
* Do it in such a fashion that for hundreds of kilometres around the people might see, tremble, know, shout: "they are strangling, and will strangle to death, the bloodsucking kulaks".

Telegraph receipt and implementation.

Yours, Lenin.

You make a great point for the long run, and yet, in the short run...look at how long it took Germany to recover from the Weimer inflation. Hitler was kindof an indirect result. Luckily, as Dr. Paul often points out, we have a better history of liberty and classical economics. Still, God help us.

Ah yes, I'd agree that a "more" capitalist society can grow from a "less" capitalist one, but I think the Marxist-Leninist view was that capitalist societies will always evolve into socialism and then communism, that capitalism is inherently faulty, and will always produce societal and moral decay.

The Marxists "get" the collective, NOT the individual.<IMHO> ;) :) The ancient war continues. :(

"Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide." - John Adams

Socialism can't sustain itself, unless everyone is motivated to work and contribute and even then it's inefficient compared to the "Free-market"..

Competition is the source of most innovations that drive the economy.

"Listen up folks, the Revolution has determined there is a sect of slightly better-off peasants whose food supplies would highly instrumental in feeding my fat ass. I suggest merely that this grain, rather than belonging to those peasants who worked for it and earned it, belongs to the communist party for no apparent reason. I say we take it and then let's go slaughter 200,000 priests. Who's with me?"

"Hoorah!"

Another scary one on that page was:

The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.
