The horizon project

Earlier today I watched a trailer for the Horizon Project. Can anyone tell me if this has any backing by the scientific community? I understand that black holes are immense gravitational pulls but this is the first that I have heard that the earth is heading for the gravitational line (maximum black hole gravitational pull) of the black hole. Is this truly what the Mayans were predicting in the 2012 significant calendar date?

A pole shift would bring about enourmous changes for the earth and I am curious if anyone can provide any other talk/research about such activity.
