Plan for Liberty:

Step One: Target states/regions:
Southern States
Mountain West
New Hampshire
Maine
Alaska
Various other states

Step Two: Open various Media outlets, starting with radio, moving into newspapers, and finally operating a cable news channel. This will give us a mainstream image and expand our influence, especially among the working classes whose only time they have for politics is commute time and possibly a few minutes in the morning on cable. We can achieve this goal at a profit, which should help to achieve it easier.

Step Three: Build up an organization of campaign managers and other campaign staffers and distribute them properly to candidates based on priority. These people will need this to be their jobs; therefore, we need to finance them enough. As we gain experience in campaigning, we should increase our talents and ability to campaign. Without a veteran political corps that specializes in that area and it is economical for them to dedicate lots time to learning new strategies and applying them, we will continue to meet political defeat after political defeat when we confront the well-oiled machines that are victorious Democratic and Republican campaigns.

Step Four: Our media personalities need to pump out books at the rate as the Republican and Democratic talking heads do. Currently, our movement is very active compared to the past and we are only getting around one book out there every other month or so, maybe less. They also come out from the same few people. If we can get that rate up to one a week and from a myriad of personalities, we can join the mainstream.

Step Five: Begin to get ourselves into academia. Try to become professors and scholars in all subjects, focusing on political related ones. If we have to establish our own university someday, so be it. Currently libertarian faculty are few and far between even conservatives on college campuses. We need to become a visible intellectual movement. Young Americans for Liberty is already setup for the student half of the equation.

Step Six: Assess situation and plan on exactly what our goals should be in the next election (hopefully 2010). We should try to find somewhere that we can get a Senator. A Senator will be important because we will have won a state in order to get to the Senate and a Senator can bring the message through filibuster speeches and Senators get more attention from the media.

Step Seven: Work hard on tying up loose ends and get ready for elections. If everything goes according to plan, we should be well on our way to accomplishing each step after the 2010 midterms. We can then work on the next elections from a strong, unwavering, base of support. If we fail, we move to plan B (secede).
