Introduced in the House yesterday, HR 833:

To abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks, to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, and for other purposes.

He has introduced similar legislation before, but it's good to see he's still putting this before Congress

Contact your congress person and ask them to co-sponsor. Where's Kucinich? Where's Marcy Kaptur? Where's the dude from Florida?

You know it would be funny to see what RP could actually slip in under the Radar. I personally think he is the only one that reads the bills anyway.

Kucinich wants to nationalize it.

I don't know how he feels about abolishing it.

He should title it the Egalitarian Act of 2009 and put it up to committee. I'm sure they'd pass it through without reading it.

What happens to coins and bills if the Fed is removed?
Are they still usable?

It won't pass...

If you try and send a letter to your congressmen about it, you will probably get a "Thank you for your message, however I'm going to do what I want" response.

As people become more upset with the government, this sort of token resistence could suddenly gain support and become significant. Probably not this year though.

I got a different response from Congressman Simpson than I normally get about the Fed.
