I do web design. I was contacted by a local educational institution to design a website for them. Would have been worth about $4-6k. But I asked if they received government grants or if they were 100% privately funded.

Here is their response:

It's been 100% privately funded so far, but we will be looking for grants in the near future.

I then replied with:

OK, unfortunately I don't do any work where the taking of wealth from one person to give to another through government force is involved, no matter how "good" the cause, and [redacted] certainly looks wonderful, so I can't take this job offer, as much as I truly do appreciate the opportunity. Socialism is theft and it would make me partner in a crime against my fellow citizens.

Good luck with finding the right person.

Perhaps if more of us took this stance we could really wake some people up. I can guarantee you my email is now being forwarded on to others right now and they are all talking about it. It will get a lot of people thinking.

Wow, that is noble and I applaud your efforts as well.

Being a web designer, do you have any suggestions for how to promote the site in my signature?

We started it as a service to gun owners and wish to keep it alive and free indefinitely.

I attend a private university for this reason, but I think even some private schools get government subsidies.

While I applaud your principle, the most important thing to do is to establish capitalism and freedom in America again.

That's what I just did!

This sounds familiar.

My local C4L group (Berks Liberty Group) is looking to do a charity event. We decided (if possible) to only do it for an organization that does not take government money. I am not sure what the final plans are but that is what we are working towards....
