what do you guys think?

hes got major name power and could definately win on that alone, slap on the fact that he knows what hes talking about and might brutalize someone in a debate...

I doubt he'd be interested unless he was looking to retire from professional wrestling.

Wouldn't be the first wrestler to go down that path.

VENTURA/KANE 2012

Wow, that was fantastic. He's a lot smarter and better spoken than ventura imo.

What is it with wrestlers being libertarian!?

I know hes been around the rallys quite a few times. Hes used to public speaking, and has a great message of liberty. In my book thats all it takes to become a representative more successful than the current ones.

I'm guessing the idea of running has crossed his mind more than once.

That was a great article, it would definitely be great to see him in office.

Ventura / Kane 2012, is a hilarious concept.

I would support Kane, I know a lot less about Ventura though.

I think it is a great idea. Glenn Jacobs has been in wrestling for quite some time now and I am sure he is getting to the point where retirement is crossing his mind every now and again. He is very well spoken and intelligent and would make a fantastic candidate for us on some level. I believe he lives in Tennessee... perhaps a Senate run could be in his future? Or perhaps we could get him in the house with Dr. Paul... that would make an interesting pairing!

I really hope some of the wrestling sites pick up on the Kane threads around here and report on it (especially this one). It could drive some traffic our way and maybe get people talking.

I hate to be that guy....

But considering his career; I doubt anyone will take him seriously.

Thats not to say he can't help out the movement; because he absolutely can with his popularity.

But actually running for office? Not sure if people would vote for him.

But it's just acting, right?

I'm not saying I condone that kind of thinking.

I'm just saying I question whether people would vote for him.

Not every state is Minnesota.

That said, by all means run him in the next Republican primary for governor of California...

Swung barbells vs. flung folding chairs could liven up the debate rather nicely.

Kane lives in Knoxville.

On Oct 6th 2007 he attended the Ron Paul rally and fundraiser in downtown Nashville.

Barry -

I was just talking with Kane a few days ago about the possibility of doing an event here in Nashville. Call me and I'll fill you in on the details.

I thought his letter was great. Always surprising when people that big and act a certain way on TV end up being smart :)

I also noticed he ignored the "white construction workers" bit that got everyone here riled up.

Why are you trying to turn a thread about a wrestler into something racial?

I think it would be a great idea if he was interested.

It seems Pro-wrestlers would have a natural ability to get elected. They already know how to speak publicly, act, and are charismatic. In addition, they can project the whole "strong leader" vibe that most of the sheeple eat up.

Yea, and I was pretty impressed with his letter too.

Kane didn't mention the Obama administration's blatant racism so that means it's OK.

also the WWE recently laid off 60 people, I imagine some of the ones who are still employed there might be interested in finding new life plans :)

I'm all for Glenn running for office, though I think he'll reserve his future political ambitions for up here in NH considering he's a Freestater. He would be a great gubernatorial candidate and his demeanor would scare the living bejeesus out of the liberals, lol.

I never said it would be uncontested. Nor did I say he had decided to seek the GOP nomination.
