Heck yeah Los Angeles! Good work! Anyone attend one of the fundraisers?

Success in L.A.
Los Angeles enthusiastically received Ron Paul yesterday!

The fundraising reception in the morning was a great success. It was held at the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena and tickets were $500 per person. Sold out!

After the breakfast, Dr. Paul went to the University of Southern California. He met with a group of students and press. He then spoke at a rally outside on campus. A police officer estimated the crowd to be between 700-900 people. They cheered Dr. Paul time and time again. Students and professors in the surrounding buildings had windows opened and listened too.

After the rally, Dr. Paul attended a fundraising reception on campus. Tickets were $500 per person for the event. Sold out!

Yesterday evening, Dr. Paul attended a fundraising dinner at the home of Bill Johnson. Tickets were $2,000 per person. Sold out!

Dr. Paul and staff then traveled to San Francisco arriving about 1:00 am this morning. It will be another busy day.

It's awesome that these events were sold out, but does anyone know how many attended each one?

If 50 people came to each, that'd be $150,000 in the bank!

No, that was a hypothetical.

I did read a unofficial report of the USC fundraiser having near 50 people attending. That is $25,000 right there.

No hes saying hypotheticaly if 50 people were at each, those would be the numbers. I would guess "sold out" means it was filled to capacity, meaning higher numbers than 50 at each. Its just speculation at this point though.

Not puttin words in your mouth cowlesy, just saying I thought thats what you meant.

Haha no worries, that was correct it was just a hypothetical. I'm guessing if they were nice small venues that it would be between 25-50 a place, but who knows.

Anyhow - great to see the campaign pulling in much needed cash!

If these were all sold out, I think that just means we need bigger venues :)

Yeah the two problems were that they didn't have greater capacity for the fundraisers and also for the $2k dinner apparently they decided to let some people attend who had *already* donated $2k before this week. The latter probably wouldn't have been a problem if they had increased the capacity though...

And maybe to charge more. Fred is coming to Texas and look at what he is charging. But, you're probably right. We just need bigger venues.

I see. Well I have no doubt they took note of this. This is a fluid campaign and I think they're good at adjusting on the fly.

Because speculating high on fundraising can hurt us....but since this post we have confirmation of 40-50 attendee...so now it's not speculation

I really think California is going to IGNITE this movement.

You might be on to something - if the college kids get it kicked into gear, Berkley, Chico, etc. expect a true revolution - At the USC rally there were times I could swear where RP got scared in how aggressive the crowd was chanting his name...lol

I know someone that went to the dinner. He stated it was 20 people. This one was kept small to give people a chance to really talk with Ron Paul. The other events were larger. This man and his son went to several of the events.

Like Kent tells us, this campaign is growing by the day. I actually have received a couple PM's from NY people who are ready to get cracking at balloting. The more college kids fall in love with his message, the more of their parents find out about it...the more the campaign grows.

Well this is one good reason to be out west....the MONEY is there! Otherwise I would hope Ron Paul would be in New Hampshire more often.

There were 50 people at the breakfast plus several comps - reporters, clergy, etc.
There were 66 people at the reception. There were 28 at the dinner.

Hope that helps.

that would make it around 114,000 for Ron Paul. Awesome. He needs to keep doing this kind of stuff. Seems incredible how 144 people contributing can mean that much money for Paul. I think theres much more fields out there for Paul to reap.

Although it's fun and exciting, it makes for an exhausting day. I don't know how the Congressman does it on a weeklong sweep like this one. I was in a coma after just the one day and my feet still hurt.

It was such an energizing buzz to work on these events and then have the day come and have everything be such a HUGE success that it's hard to go back to real life. I'm going to hit up the Orange County organizer to start working on a big day down there - an entire untapped market - along the same lines as what we did in L.A.

The whole day was so great it is just indescribable.

I really think California is going to IGNITE this movement.

Possibly, but there is a reason it's often called the People's Republic of California.... it's my home state, and I love it, but it's socialist central... many may not be up for Ron Paul's message.
