A brilliant letter to the editor in NH where it counts, all be it, underneath the York Housing Group and John Edwards.....

Ron Paul has strong support
Aug. 24 — To the Editor:

Established Republicans are starting to echo the New Hampshire GOP and presidential candidate Ron Paul's view that the United States should bring the troops back from Iraq. On Aug. 23, Sen. John Warner, R-Va., called for troop reductions in time for Christmas. Ron Paul is the only Republican presidential candidate who voted against the war and the only candidate who wants to bring the troops home.

After Congressman Ron Paul finished first in the Strafford County Straw Poll and the New Hampshire Taxpayers Poll, the Republican "establishment" in Washington is starting to listen. Sen. Warner joins Sens. Hagel, Snowe, Specter and Lugar in calling for a change of strategy in Iraq. The long silent anti-war faction of the Republican Party is starting to let its voices be heard. Ron Paul has claimed first place victories in North Carolina, Washington and Alabama polls.

What he lacks in national name recognition, Ron Paul is making up for with an enthusiastic base. His supporters are showing up to tip the balance at straw polls nationwide, as they did for Ron Paul twice in New Hampshire. In comparing results head-to-head across the nation, Congressman Paul has so far defeated Rudy Giuliani in 16 of the 18 polls and John McCain in 16 of the 17 polls.

Ron Paul has the largest and most energized base in the race. For the past five months, he has been consistently the most searched-for candidate on Google, he has the most MySpace friends, and he has attracted 30,000 activists to MeetUp groups. Inquiring minds, young people and activists are flocking to his tent.

Ron Paul's popularity with independents has the ability to blow the race open beyond the electoral-college border skirmishes of 2000 and 2004, and he alone has the power to deliver Reagan Democrats back to the party. A recent Republican meeting in Manhattan drew three people, while a recent Ron Paul meeting drew 80 — on an island that voted 82 percent for John Kerry.

This week, there are straw polls in Texas and Maryland. It will be interesting to see if the media starts to cover this candidate more seriously as Sen. Warner and the Republican establishment follow Ron Paul's call to bring the troops home.
