On a new episode of Psych, Shawn was trying to figure out what the acronym ORW stood for. His first guess was "Older republican walruses" then said "Never mind, that's silly. Everyone knows that walruses are libertarians."

Interesting.

He said it so faint, I had to turn on closed captioning to make sure I heard correctly.

What do you think this means? Was this an insult? Probably not. But it's just so weird to hear the word in such an odd place. Imagine if he said your name or your small home town. It just pops out at you. The word "republican" didn't register at all but "libertarian" did. What do you think?

The humor of Psyche is catching you off guard and having you laugh at the inappropriateness (absurdity) of the comment while the jokester keeps a serious face, which is supposed to make it even more humorous.

I know, I know. The people on the show probably didn't even notice. It was just another word. One could understand why they didn't use democrat or anything else, such as anarchist, because it would of been too out of place.
