Ever wondered where the Lincolnites get their arguments? Look no further than Karl Marx

http://www.shucks.net/shucks/40.htm

"I was reading some articles online and came across some pro-northern writings by the father of communist thugs and big centralized government himself, Karl Marx. Marx, it turns out, was one of the north's biggest advocates and defenders in the British newspapers during the 1860's. He also thought very highly of Lincoln. Perhaps the most shocking thing about it all is the strong similarities between the arguments Marx put forth on behalf of the north in the 1860's and the arguments the Lincoln defenders put forth today. They are often identical! See for yourself -"

"From the commencement of the titanic American strife the workingmen of Europe felt instinctively that the star-spangled banner carried the destiny of their class." - Karl Marx, letter to Abraham Lincoln congratulating him on reelection as President of the United States, January 28, 1865

Evil Union General Franz Sigel

"Union General Franz Sigel had been a leader in the communist Revolution of 1848, a revolution fought to destroy the individual state governments of Germany and France, and forcibly unite them under an all-powerful central, socialist government. That revolution failed and Sigel, along with thousands of other “forty-eighters,” fled Europe for America, bringing their revolutionary socialist ideas with them. Karl Marx fled to London under the protection of the rich Friedrich Engels. During Lincoln’s War against the South, Lincoln’s German troops declared “I fights mit Sigel.”"

Evil COMMIE CARL SCHURZ

"Carl Schurz, another forty-eighter, had met Karl Marx at the Democratic Club in Cologne. Schurz delivered the votes of 300,000 German immigrants to Lincoln in 1860. It was Schurz's ideas and influence that eventually held sway with Lincoln, and encourage the invasion of the Confederacy and resulted in the Emancipation Proclamation allegedly freeing slaves in Confederate territory, but not freeing any slaves in Yankee territory."

German and other European communist refugees in America

"German and other European communist refugees in America were instructed to support Lincoln’s invasion of the South. The extremely pro-Union, anti-Southern writings of Marx and his colleague Engels echo the attitude of his German followers. (It is worth noting that Lincoln has long been a hero in the Communist world including in the U.S.S.R. and there was the Communist “Abraham Lincoln Brigade” in the Spanish Civil War). The preponderance of German-born officers and men in the Union armies is overwhelming. It is estimated that in 1860 there were approximately 1,204,075 Germans in the states. Of the total of those serving, at least 36,000 served under German officers.

Most of the same super rich bankers and royal families who were secretly behind the Karl Marx and his Communist movement in the attempt to take over Europe in 1848 were behind the successful Communist Revolution of 1861 in America to crush the Confederate States of America and at the same time to establish complete centralization of government in Washington, D.C. Movements like the Confederacy are a threat to empires. Mega-states, regardless of their personal differences, must hang together to maintain the myth of omnipotent government."

The Communist League

"With the defeat of the revolution a great number of members of the League of Communists, were arrested or were forced to emigrate from Germany, and later from France and Switzerland as well. In most cases they went to London and to the United States.

Just as the preparations for the revolution had largely dominated the League's activities since its foundation and the 1848 revolution had marked the highlight of its history, the evaluation of theory was important from the revoluton to about 1852. The Neue Rheinische Zeitung - Politisch-ökonomische Revue (Hamburg 1850) published a number of historical analyses by Marx and Engels which developed the concept of scientific socialism. Within the League, there were factional disputes and discussions of questions like the preconditions for revolutions and the relationship between bourgeois and proletarian revolution. Marx, Engels, Eccarius, and others emphatically opposed by-passing objectively necessary social stages of development, hostility to intellectuals, adventurism, and the tendency to militarize the revolutionary movement.

The experience of the 1848-49 revolution, specifically the activities of the Communist League, were of paramount importance for a great number of the participants in the workers' movement and for the development of socialist thought in the second half of the 19th century." --- Martin Hundt

YW ya'll... tones is more libertarian than you think. I am a social conservative..but libertarian otherwise..more of a paleoconservative. I dispise Lincoln and the lies and what he did to our country. The truth about the War of Northern Aggression has been successfully buried..the only way to know truth is to seek old books that were written closer to the event, with writings from southerners and northerners who were involved. Here's something else interesting...what the north was fighting was not slavery..but SLAVE POWER. In other words, the issue that the slaves were counted as 3/5 of a person gave the southern states more representation in congress and the north coulnd't get anything passed. THAT is the reason they wanted slavery abolished...and note this. Lincoln ONLY freed the slaves in the SOUTHERN states...the northern states were exempt. This is what killed the country and gave us big government. I don't agree with slavery at all...and it should have been done away with in other ways...but there was no humanitarian reasons for ending slavery...all political and economic. Tones

YES the bankers backed Marx who backed Lincoln. Here is SLAVE POWER:

Background
The problem posed by slavery, according to many Northern politicians, was not so much the mistreatment of slaves (a theme that abolitionists emphasized), but rather the political threat to American republicanism, especially as embraced in Northern free states. The Free Soil Party first raised this warning in 1848, arguing that the annexation of Texas as a slave state was a terrible mistake. The Free Soilers rhetoric was taken up by the Republican party as it emerged in 1854.

The Republicans also argued that slavery was economically inefficient, compared to free labor, and was a deterrent to the long-term modernization of America. Worse, said the Republicans, the Slave Power, deeply entrenched in the "Solid South", was systematically seizing control of the White House, the Congress, and the Supreme Court. Senator and governor Salmon P. Chase of Ohio was an articulate enemy of the Slave Power, as was Senator Charles Sumner of Massachusetts.

"When some 3,000 Americans, most of whom were members of the Communist Party U.S.A., went to Spain to fight in the Spanish Civil War on the side of communists, they thought it quite natural to call themselves the "Abraham Lincoln Brigade." Indeed, in his book Lincoln Reconsidered (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0375725326/lewrockwell/), Pulitzer prize-winning Lincoln biographer David Donald wrote that the Communist Party U.S.A. adorned its office walls with huge portraits of Abe, and held annual "Lincoln-Lenin Day" parades in New York City.

Karl Marx himself wrote Lincoln on January 28, 1865 to say, "Sir: We congratulate the American people upon your re-election by a large majority." In the same letter Marx assured Lincoln that the European communist movement was with him:

YES the bankers backed Marx who backed Lincoln.

Do you think the bankers backed Lincoln?

http://www.xat.org/xat/usury.html

Otto von Bismark chancellor of Germany 1876 On the 12th of April 1861 this economic war began. Predictably Lincoln, needing money to finance his war effort, went with his secretary of the treasury to New York to apply for the necessary loans. The money changers wishing the Union to fail offered loans at 24% to 36%. Lincoln declined the offer. An old friend of Lincoln's, Colonel Dick Taylor of Chicago was put in charge of solving the problem of how to finance the war. His solution is recorded as this. "Just get Congress to pass a bill authorising the printing of full legal tender treasury notes... and pay your soldiers with them and go ahead and win your war with them also."

Colonel Dick Taylor 1 Lincoln agreed to try this solution and printed 450 million dollars worth of the new bills using green ink on the back to distinguish them from other notes. "The government should create, issue and circulate all the currency and credit needed to satisfy the spending power of the government and the buying power of consumers..... The privilege of creating and issuing money is not only the supreme prerogative of Government, but it is the Government's greatest creative opportunity. By the adoption of these principles, the long-felt want for a uniform medium will be satisfied. The taxpayers will be saved immense sums of interest, discounts and exchanges. The financing of all public enterprises, the maintenance of stable government and ordered progress, and the conduct of the Treasury will become matters of practical administration. The people can and will be furnished with a currency as safe as their own government. Money will cease to be the master and become the servant of humanity. Democracy will rise superior to the money power."

This would have been great for everyone except the money changers who quickly realised how dangerous this policy would be for them. They wasted no time in expressing their view in the London Times. Oddly enough, while the article seems to have been designed to discourage this creative financial policy, in its put down we're clearly able to see the policies goodness. "If this mischievous financial policy, which has its origin in North America, shall become endurated down to a fixture, then that Government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off debts and be without debt. It will have all the money necessary to carry on its commerce. It will become prosperous without precedent in the history of the world. The brains, and wealth of all countries will go to North America. That country must be destroyed or it will destroy every monarchy on the globe."
Hazard Circular - London Times 1865

Lincoln's opposition to the central banks financial control and a proposed return to the gold standard is well documented. He would certainly have killed off the national banks monopoly had he not been killed himself only 41 days after being re-elected. The money changers were pressing for a gold standard because gold was scarce and easier to have a monopoly over. Much of this was already waiting in their hands and each gold merchant was well aware that what they really had could be easily made to seem like much much more.

Lincoln's dollars were called "greenbacks". He did this. That is not to say Marx, who the central bankers did back..didnt assist with PEOPLE...he sent people over and Lincoln put them in the Union army..that is why the south was outnumbered because of the thousands of europeans that came over and went in the union army. Remember, the south had Confederate paper money...and bank notes. I have some of each. When the south lost...that was the end of the prosperity of the south and many lost fortunes because the Confederate notes became worthless. The south was wealthy...not everyone..but many were..and the South has never been able to recover from the loss of that war. Tones

He saved the Union? It no longer was a union, but a consolidated nation-state that destroyed decentralization and liberty. No sir, rather than saving it, Lincoln stuck a dagger in its heart. If he wanted to "save the Union" he would have withdrawn the troops from Ft. Sumter, acknowledged the legitimacy of secession, and asked the South to come back into the Union when they felt it prudent.

The only point that I was contesting was the point that the international bankers may have backed Lincoln.

New York banks at the time weren't controlled by international bankers (or at least, most of them weren't), so that would not be the place to look. The fact is, the debt skyrocketed beyond what the population could afford, to over 4 billion.
