Though I suggest watching the whole clip (and going to CSPANJunkie.org to watch the whole thing), skip to 5:17 in the clip to watch the part I mentioned in the title.

The link should - or is supposed to - go directly to that part, but it's not working for me.

One of the callers thought Ron Paul was in the Senate, and apparently they didn't know how he felt about economics. Dr. Paul joked that he'd be kicked out of the Senate if he tried to vote there.

And then what seemed to be Naomi Klein's fan club president called in and bashed Reagan and Milton Friedman, and free market capitalism. Thankfully, C-SPAN cut her off and let Paul respond. :)

Yeah, caller #2 was one confused SOB and didn't know who he was talking to. And it's good that Ron Paul showed how he voted against Reagan's deficit increasing budgets.

Yeah. Too bad that lady will never figure out what it is Ron was saying. You may be able to attach Ron Paul rhetoric to that of other Republicans. However, it's Ron Pauls record that makes him so impressive. That lady thought she was talking to a politician. It must be the first time she's actually ever talked to a Patriot of the United States of America.

Caught it live. Indeed a fine little speech there.

RP inprov philosophy is the best. Unfortunately it leaves the average caller like that slack jawed and drooling. If you don't know the real meaning of words like socialism, welfare, intervention, inflation, ect. you don't know what we are talking about.
This is why the education system in the US hurts us more than anything else. I had K-12 and 3yrs of college with good to great grades, and really didn't understand these concepts myself till that fateful day I heard RP on a republican debate and it flipped a switch somewhere and got me curious...

It is rather frustrating to debate keynsians who are either still in or fresh out of college. They don't have even a basic understanding of austrian theory, and after spending 4 years learning that keynsian theory is absolute fact they are an irritating combination of ignorant and arrogant.

Generally speaking of course.

That was a great answer. I loved that he slammed Reagan! That lady won't likely learn anything from his answer however because she was brainwashed in government schools.

I can't even believe there are people out there like that woman! That really makes me I'll. Almost as bad as I felt yesterday when I say that Obama quote on Genn Beck about Americans can no longer think we can turn our heat up to 72 degrees and eat a lot of meat. What kind of madness has over taken this country?

He slams everyone while staying quite calm and sounding like a teacher! He's awesome! If that was me, I'd be flying off the handle.

The pursed lips and you could see it coming...At some point a failed system has to be left to die and new ideas must take wing. How to get this through to the vast majority is the problem and it seems like it just keeps falling on deaf ears.

Yeah I noticed that as well. You could see some of the same reactions during the debates and TV segments during the campaign. His whole expression just screams "God these people are morons" and you know that he is getting ready to give people a better education in 3 minutes than they got in 4-6 years of college instruction.

One thing that lady mentioned that I think is really important that Ron Paul didn't address (he had limited time, he also addressed it in a different context earlier in the interview) was when she said that the reason our political system is broken is not because of big government, but because "good" people are not willing to run for office and that all we need to do is elect "good" people to office and all of our problems will be solved.

The fallacy with this opinion undermines every leftist in existence and I think it's an important argument that needs to be made more often. When the government is big, then that means they have a lot of money to spend. This means that a lot of companies come to the government feeding trough for handouts. These are the companies who fund the politicians who are elected. In other words, the more money the government hands out, the more "special interests" become involved in the political process. The people will never win because individuals don't have the organization or the capital means to support the political process like companies that are getting handouts do.

Indeed.

Additionally, power corrupts. Really good people don't seek power. Anyone who wants to become a politician because they enjoy politics is automatically a bad guy, imo.

New Jersey next to New York are very liberal states, the states love social/public programs and loves to give Amnesty to Illegals and never wants to cut spending even when we are facing budget deficits. Well if you think about it the entire North-East is pretty liberal...

That's the truth. But then again, I probably would've spat out the same nonsense 3 years ago. LOL...so maybe she has a chance.

But damn, Dr. Paul was on point with at the end of that video. This man is 73 and he seems to get more concise with every month. I love it!

Wow, Ron Paul really hit his stride in the final minute. It was a knock out punch that even I didn't see coming. He appeared somewhat tired, almost frazzled until the last caller. Then, bam, out of nowhere he beat her over the head with the hard truth, completely obliterating her Ronald Regan myth that he was small government.

Yeah, it made me think of this interview he did in 1988:
