Does anybody know if there is a comprehensive list of the pork projects in yesterday's stimulus bill?

What I've gathered so far:

$3.5 million going towards STD prevention

$1 billion to Amtrak

$4 billion for ACORN-like groups

$200 million to rehabilitate the National Mall

$650 million to repair dilapidated Forest Service facilities

$276 million to fix the computer systems at the State Department

$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts

$600 million for General Services Administration to replace older vehicles with alternative fuel vehicles.

$2.5 billion to upgrade low-income housing.

$400 million for NASA scientists to conduct climate change research.

$426 million to construct facilities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

$800 million to clean up Superfund sites.

$150 million for the Coast Guard to repair or remove bridges deemed a hazard to navigation.

$6.7 billion to renovate and improve energy efficiency at federal buildings.

$400 million to replace the Social Security Administration's 30-year-old National Computer Center.

$2 billion in child care subsidies

$150 million for the Smithsonian Institution

$650 million for digital-TV converters

$83 billion in earned income tax refunds for people who don't pay income taxes

$6 billion towards University building projects

$20 billion to compile medical records into electronic databases

Anybody know of any more?

I only see the executive summary here. The actual legalese of the bill is where they hide a lot of the evil. :p:mad:

The DIGITAL GOVERNMENT MESS:

http://www.businessweek.com/the_thread/techbeat/archives/2009/01/dtv_a_mess_that.html?chan=technology_technology+in dex+page_top+stories

$650 million for digital-TV converters? MORE? WTF?

Over 80% of America already have D to A converters (Digital to Analog).

These box cost less than $10 a piece to fabricate:

so let's do the math... $650 million divided by $10 dollars = 65 Million more units

Oh wait, it's another socialistic program to give a REBATE when purchasing a Digital converter box. $40 REBATE

$650 million divided by $40 = 16,250,000 units

Now when you go to purchase one unit it cost on average to YOU: $75 - $40 rebate = $35 to the people.

Take into account all the household that don't need them: DirecTV, Dish Network, Cable TV, etc...

Another Inefficient wasteful program by the FCC & government!

Such A$$HATS!

Amtrak hasn't turned a profit in 40 years and they get a billion dollars.

totally agree. I guess i was trying to say if you didnt want to read the whole thing you could get a reasonable idea by the 'generalized' categories in the summaries where all the pork is being turned into sausage, consumed by ravenous lobbyists, and flushed down the toilet in big long turds.
