We the People March on Washington DC Planning GuideWe the people will March on Saturday May 30th, 2009
Please join us in planning, organizing, and including everyone we know in this march. We will begin adding to the discussion over the next few days and weeks.

This march is about preserving the constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, about getting back to the moral roots of our forefathers and the original intent of this country. It’s about holding our elected officials responsible and accountable or we won't vote for them again. It’s about freedom of speech, and all issues that oppose “We the People” and support large controlling government.

We need banners, with phrases dear to our hearts, quotes from our forefathers, and a statement of our action. accommodations, checking about permits, deciding where to start the march, methods of getting other larger groups involved, obtaining support from important well known people, news coverage, etc...

Lincoln Memorial Rededication

Four score and seven years ago, Americans of different generations, races, backgrounds, and occupations gathered in Washington, D.C. to dedicate the Lincoln Memorial. The President of the United States, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Robert Lincoln, and veterans of the Blue and Gray alike came to honor the Savior of the Union. In the wake of Civil War, unity was the prevailing sentiment of that day.

Now, the memorial built to honor Abraham Lincoln continues to bring Americans together in struggles for equality and celebrations of freedom. Join us on May 30, 2009 as we rededicate the Lincoln Memorial and demonstrate that this government—this nation—truly is one of, by, and for the People.

Who are these people? We already have a revolution march team and board from the original March on DC.

Why a new group instead of working with the successful march team from last year?

This is why we don't get things done.

I'm thinking this might be a good approach. I just don't see a growth in numbers for a 2nd r3vmarch and wonder that working together will give us:

many more numbers
the opportunity to interact with those outside our core group

If the Constitution were restored we would rapidly approach being in the same situation we are in today. The solution is to let the government collapse then prevent a new one from being formed.

I am curious why May 31st has been chosen? According to my calendar this is a Sunday. Lets consider a few things. 1. schools may not be out. 2. congress wont' be in session (obviously). 3. keep in mind porcfest is later in june - we should be designing national actions with all of these things in mind.

Hi Michael! We haven't really talked since your sabbatical. After much consultation with other organizers in the movement, I've come to the same basic conclusions. I don't think we'll raise bigger numbers and I don't think we'll have any impact outside of our community by doing the same thing again. Not as things stand today.

However, none of us can predict the future. It's entirely possible that this date could turn out to be of greater significance by unforeseen events. That's a coin-toss.

At this stage of R3VOlUTION March, we do have all the fields of expertise and capability to assist in almost any sort of direct-action undertaken by the movement. We do planning, organizing, training, logistical support, stage management, marshaling/medical/security, the works. As far as DC goes, we have very good relationships with the various law enforcement agencies.

We'd just begun to talk about potential dates for another large mobilization, and were attempting to coordinate with other activities such as Porcfest, but didn't come to any conclusion on that score. But the movement is more or less always trying every option. The organizers of this effort are free to involve us or to do their own thing as it suits them. I don't think anything is reflected or implied by that either way.

Sorry I haven't called in... I really dislike conference calls...

The proposal for this march is fairly new, I haven't looked much into it, but imagine the originators would appreciate what we can bring to the table. I imagine we should all look into this a bit further...

Hi all, I'm back...sorry to post and leave... I got caught up in other business yesterday...

As far as contacting the R3volution March Team, I hadn't gotten around to that yet, tho I have contacted Susan Wolfe, but haven't heard back from her as of yet.

Oyate, thank you for the email, I will be replying directly...

Ok, for the answers to the questions of why May 30th (Saturday, not Sunday)

It is my understanding that this date was chosen as it is in conjunction with the Re-dedication of the Lincoln Memorial.

I only became aware of this the other night through an email I received on Facebook from The Conservative Coalition http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=45954399669&ref=nf who is promoting the March for The Patriot Resistance http://www.resistnet.com/group/wethepeoplemarchonwashington

They are looking for volunteers and would most definately appreciate any help from the R3volution March Team. I don't believe any of these folks were aware of The Rev March that we had last year. http://www.resistnet.com/group/wethepeoplemarchonwashington/forum

This movement has grown in leaps and bounds over the past year as most of you might know. There are alot of folks on the Save the Constitution Bandwagon, that didn't support or even know about Ron Paul, but yet are very passionate about restoring our Country to the Constitutional Republic we once were.

As far as this March verses the July March, I agree that we indeed should have the Revolution March in July. Alot of folks are hoping we do, myself included.

I believe The END THE FED Crew is gearing up for their March in April and there is another group planning on Piggy backing a March during the Annual Rolling Thunder Rally on May 24th. http://operationscreamineagle.ning.com/events (have to join the site to see the events I think)

I don't have alot of info as of yet, but I will gladly keep everyone posted as it becomes available. This is still in the very early stages of organization, but moving quickly.

Anyone willing to help sign up for a committee and jump in. I know that they would be most appreciative of any and all the help they can get, especially from the Rev March Team.

I'm looking into this further, but just received the following:

I wanted to let all of you know that the date of the Rally has been moved. In working with the Heritage Foundation, defendourconstitution.org, and several other important groups, we had discovered that we were on the same page and just had different dates. If you know of the Heritage Foundation, then you know that they are the leading group on Conservative Issues. They have the West Front of the Capitol already reserved. This is the same place PBO took over our country. Now, we are going to take it back. Come help us defend America.

We are pleased to announce the "Defend America" Rally will be held on May 23, 2009 on the West Front Grassy Area at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
This is a "grass roots" rally that will bring any and all Americans who are concerned about the growth of the power of the federal government and the loss of individual freedom in America together for an afternoon that will help to raise the awareness of citizens around the country to this issue and to raise the awareness of politicians that we will not tolerate the transition of America to socialism.
Rally Particulars:

The rally will begin at 1:00pm on the sidewalk across from the National Archives building on 9th Street. Buses can unload rally attendees there prior to 1:00pm. Rally participants will march from the Archives building down 9th Street to the National Mall, turn east, and then march to the Capitol West Front Grassy Area for the rally. Speeches will begin at approximately 1:30pm. Rally participants who are driving themselves to the rally can meet at the Archives rally point or meet at the West Front Grassy Area.

What to Bring:
This is a grass roots rally. Participants should bring homemade signs and banners to help emphasize the reason for the rally. Note that all supports for signs and banners must not exceed three quarters(3/4) of an inch at their largest point, have dull ends, and be made entirely of wood. There can be no nails, screws, or bolt-type fastening devices protruding from the wooden supports. Here are some ideas for your signs and banners:
"Constitution Yes!! Redistribution No!!"
"What do you want?....Freedom Who from?...the Government"
"No More Entitlements! No More Ear Marks!"

Participants should bring folding unbrellas, a water bottle, sunscreen, and a folding chair or blanket to the rally.
Invited Speakers:

We are currently in the process of inviting speakers from The Heritage Foundation, The Tax Foundation, and other nationally recognized experts on the Founding Fathers, the history of the growth of the federal government in America, and the future of socialism in America.

Transportation to the Rally:

This is a grass roots rally. The most cost effective way to attend the rally is by organizing a bus from your city to the rally. Charters are available from a number of companies including American Charters, Inc. Contact American Charters at www.americancoachlines.com. for more information. Buses hold roughly 55 people, so get your friends together now!

Lodging for the Rally:

The rally takes place over Memorial Day weekend. This is a popular travel weekend for Americans and so your reservations need to be made well in advance of May. Best rates for hotel rooms are found outside Washington, D.C. depending on your bus and automobile travel schedule.

Speeches will end around 3:00pm at which time rally participants can begin to pack up and move toward their buses. It is advised that buses pick up rally attendees at the east end of the National Mall.

How You Can Help:

If you know someone who can donate these things for the rally, it would be greatly appreciated. Please have them contact us at melove@carolina.rr.com.

What We Need:

Portable Restrooms
Staging for the Event
Public Address System for the Event

If you would like to donate money to cover the cost of the event, please email us at melove@carolina.rr.com.

Thanks for your help and see you in Washington!

Michael he changed the dates.... After researching it... I find the May 30th is a much better date as ALL DC Diplomats and Guests will be in town for the following... What better time to show up in DC with Signs about Restoring the Constitution than during the ReDedication of the Lincoln Memorial. Besides, the 23rd is Memorial Day and no one will be in DC of importance. Just my opinion. I am not going to encourage the change in dates as I had previously considered.

May 30, 2009

Replicating the 1922 dedication of the Lincoln Memorial, the National Park Service has invited President Obama, Vice President Biden, members of Congress, United States Supreme Court justices and other public figures to the ceremonial Rededication Retrospective of the memorial. The third and final part in the Lincoln Memorial Rededication Series, the event will focus on Lincoln’s achievements and reflect on the many historical events which took place at the memorial. The ALBC will co-sponsor the retrospective with the NPS. The retrospective will take place exactly four score and seven years (87 years) to the day of the original Lincoln Memorial dedication.

The Patriot Resistance www.Resistnet.com is the group that started this particular March... they are only 4 or 5 days into planning so it is going to take a little time to get organized. I guess they have contacted Oyate and are going to be talking with him in the near future.

I agree that it's turning out that the 30th might actually be an excellent date. If anyone has an in with Ron Paul, they are asking how we might get him to speak and since he will probably be in town for the rededication, he might be willing...

I think it is really fitting to have a "We the People" Restore Our Constitution March on this date.

I am going to attempt to attend the events during Memorial Day weekend as well, but am only helping with this one. I have a tendency to spread myself too thin.

The link is http://www.resistnet.com/group/wethepeoplemarchonwashington (You have to register to read the info on the March until they have the website completed) This Group is an offshoot of www.Grassfire.org

Alot of people probably never heard the speeches at the Revolution March because of the heat on July 12.

There were probably bigger crowds early in the morning, but by afternoon, the heat was very intense.

So try to avoid July and August in D.C.

Reply by Pete Peterson 39 minutes ago
Darla, Let me tell you where I am at and feel right now. I came on here to check it out and first be convinced it will work , because I know if we cannot get the numbers it is my opinion that it is pointless(my opinion). Obama will not even open the curtains of his white house office window. I feel we need to start with conservatives forums, because these people have passion although in different degrees. We need to convince them to first believe in it and to convince all their conservative friends in their circle and then theirs to Ram conservative Talk Radio/tv to force them to promote it. This is the only way right now.

What do you mean letterhead and letters? Explain please this in more detail. What is the teams.committees job or duties?

Let me tell you something about myself. My Patriotism is off the charts. I am a modern day" firebrand" or son's of Liberty. I have already protested more then once and had my life endanger when our great Government allowed illegal aliens to protest in our very cities. I abstained from voting in the pointless election. I only follow our flag now. I am weary and I need your convincing to help for me to even believe. Your fellow Patriot

I understand Martin, many are weary and many feel helpless. This is exactly why we all have to become engaged in this fight for our Constititution and holding our elected officials accountable to the oath to uphold and protect it.

Steve Elliot of Grassfire/resistnet and I are meting on Monday. Grassfire wants to support us and teaming up is exactly what we need for more momentum. the committees being formed within each state are working to enlist others and get their fundraising efforts going to put on a march in State and at the DC march in May. We have developed logos and will have items for sale to support our efforts to put this march out there!

The media team has drafted a letter and starting next week we are going to start an all out assault of mailing, emailing, faxing, postinging anywhere we can. telephone calls will be made and organization outreach committee is already working on that. We have the second amendment committee who is dong the same as is the right to religious freedom committee...and the list goes on. Things have taken off quickly we came out of the gate running hard and fast and we can't slow down. This is too important.

we have a lot going on that maybe you dont see on these pages but I assure you many are working hard to make this a success. Every person we enlist adds to the momentum. we need everyone working together. we have to pull other groups in to resistnet to build the awareness of the march and enlist their participation.

Thanks

So many want to bring their expertise to the table and help in any way they can.

How about the march be centered on a goal that is situationally relevant? We should march on the Federal Reserve to protest the Keynesian economics and inflationary policies that got us into this economic state.

Much more people are thinking about the economy than the constitution. Many people are open to new things because the economics for the last 10 years have not worked. We should take advantage of that.

or we could just have another End the Fed day...

Gin
02-03-2009, 06:07 PM
I tend to disagree that most are focused on the Economy... From what I have seen there is also a good size group of folks that are Pro-Constitution...especially surrounding the ineligibility of Obama... but whatever your passion.... End The Fed, 2nd Amendment, Adherence to the Constitution, Holding Elected Officials Accountable, etc

This March is for ALL.... It is being centered around the Constitution and We The People standing up and taking back Our Country....
