Sociology teacher bashed this to trash today. Over-analyzed every single piece of the opening 10 minutes. It was terrible. And the empty-headed students went mindlessly along with everything he said. I should've become a teacher. I could get 100-200 kids a year turning libertarian just by criticizing everything else.

He did have some semi-good points such as how other nations do not "take in" all students and only select from a few (like a college). Unfortunately for this teacher, who is just pleading with students to keep his career, Belgium has a compulsory system much like the United States, so...not sure how true that ACTUALLY is.

I'm so sick of this teacher. He explains everyone else trying to have their own agenda when he has the greatest and most immoral agenda of anyone. Screw him. Screw [public] teachers. Screw schools.

My husband and I are people who have never been satisfied with the status quo. My husband took Honors English every year and graduated from one of the biggest high schools in Tennessee, having never read a Shakespeare play.

Our daughter went to a very small, private Christian school through second grade. She was doing well, but we were not satisfied with the limited resources of the school. We've never been rich, but we decided to take a shot and home school.

Best decision we ever made. Our daughter loved home schooling (most days), we loved home schooling her, and she graduated from college and is licensed to teach school. She plans to home school her boys.

It's a viable option. It can be done, and probably should be done more. Metro Nashville Public Schools are horrible. They are filthy, and they are dangerous. We have a couple of good magnet schools, but there are not enough to meet the demand, and poor minority parents are limited because transportation is a problem for them. I don't know why the techniques that work so well in magnet schools are not used in all the other underperforming schools in town.

I would not place any child of mine in a government school for any reason.
