I didn't buy it from the school bookstore. I will probably just give it to a local "thrift" bookstore for free.

It is sad, I can't even go to that class. It makes me ill. So I plan to just read that book and show up for exams. I should be fine it's a big, lecture-type class. :o

Or you can go to class and ask difficult questions the whole time. :) There are students to enlighten, afterall.

I could do that, but in my school that is not seen as "enlightening" just rude and annoying.

"oh my god, that kid never shuts up"... I have seen it happen to others.

You have to pick your battles well, this is one where I just want to get by.

Especially in a lecture style class with like 80 people.....

Learn it. You can't fight a war not knowing what weapons your enemies carry.

Schiff recommends throwing Keynesian textbooks in the trash.

I agree. Learn it so you can accurately debate its flaws.

I believe that government spending can increase GDP in the short run, but it is probably of no use in the long run. So it is valuable to learn about these things, even if only to understand what not to do, or to increase what you can talk about within the scope of economics. Ultimately, economists are answerable to what the statistical data says. If two theories happen to explain the data, then perhaps they have not been specific enough. Or, one in particular may be a better predictor than the other, based on the statistical data. Or, the data itself may be in question.

I suppose I can learn from it, than I will happily trash it...not sure yet.

I can learn way more, and more accurate economics on my own. Institutionalized education sucks.

Keynesian theory is to Economics Instructors what Creationist theory is to Christians.
