Obama's First Pakistani Scalps (http://www.reason.com/blog/show/131219.html)

::Gulp::

The Associated Press (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D95SSHE80&show_article=1) reports:

Missiles fired from a suspected U.S. spy plane killed seven people Friday on the Pakistan side of the Afghan border, a lawless region where al-Qaida militants are known to hide out, officials said.

The strike was the first on Pakistani territory since the inauguration of President Barrack Obama.

Whether this has much symbolic significance or not, Obama's aggressiveness in Pakistan will certainly come as no surprise to readers of Reason.

Does anyone have any doubt that once Barry starts his wars, the draft will be back?

But it’s also important that a president speaks to military service as an obligation not just of some, but of many (http://www.clipsandcomment.com/2008/09/11/transcript-servicenation-presidential-forum-at-columbia-university/). You know, I traveled, obviously, a lot over the last 19 months. And if you go to small towns, throughout the Midwest or the Southwest or the South, every town has tons of young people who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s not always the case in other parts of the country, in more urban centers. And I think it’s important for the president to say, this is an important obligation. If we are going into war, then all of us go, not just some.

I hope people take to the steets in protest if the draft returns! Maybe it'll disillusion his cheerleaders.

Recall Biden: " . . .were gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because its not gonna be apparent initially, its not gonna be apparent that were right.

So, is this basically Biden saying, "We're really going to do some things that sound like they contrast with the campaign, but don't worry because it's just our shining overlord working miracles!"?

But of course!

Biden said that during all that talk about how Obama will be tested...

More from CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/01/23/pakistan.missile/index.html):

Although the United States said the strikes have killed some senior al Qaeda officials, the Pakistani government has condemned them, calling them a violation of its sovereignty, and has asked the U.S. military to stop.

This makes me wonder if there should be an Obama kill count, as was done with Bush.

Number of Americans killed overseas since Obama took office: [N]
Number of civilians killed overseas since Obama took office: [N]

Yes, it can be worded better. :o

I think folks rallied behind him when they thought he would stop this pre emptive nonsense. I think this happening a couple of times will wash the candy off the crap.
