Pink Floyd has, for decades, been upgrading ignoramouses by snaring them with great music, causing them to memorize great lyrics, and waiting for the ticking time bomb they thusly created to go off. I'll never forget the day I got back from class to discover my roommates trying to tell me that I must listen to the lyrics of The Wall and discover what I had known for years. They didn't look happy with me when I started telling them, yeah, it's an amazing trip through neurosis. And Shine On You Crazy Diamond is an amazing trip through the mental health system, and Animals through the business side of the music industry and power/money in general...

They got over it, though.

Once again, the idea that the shepherd leads from the front of the flock is a fallacy. The shepherd leads from the middle of the flock because of how he or she is burdened. That burden is to keep the weak stragglers from falling too far behind the flock as it is also to keep the strong ones from getting too far ahead of it.
The strong leadership by the rams is a false leadership utilized by the shepherd who is only burdened with the overall general direction the flock is headed towards.
So, the shepherd is submissive in how he or she follows after the leading rams but also steers them from the middle; while, he or she also serves as the leading ram for those weaker lambs who fall behind.

Actually, the easy, slow pace of the symphonic, multi-leveled music that Pink Floyd became famous went against the fast pace of the music during the timultuous times of the Vietnam war.
