On his first day in office, President Obama put former president Bush on notice. His administration just released an executive order that will make it difficult for Bush to shield his White House records--and those of former Vice President Dick Cheney--from public scrutiny by invoking the doctrine of executive privilege. Shortly after taking office, Bush handed down his own executive order, amending the Presidential Records Act to give current and past presidents, along with their heirs, veto power over the release of presidential records, which are considered the property of the American people.

Well so far so good, but i would also love to see clinton records not just bushs ones.
I wonder how long will obama do this?
And what do you think.

I'm sure he'll do some nice things.

That's about it.

Kind of hypocritical on MR. B.O.'s part as he froze all personal records to shield his "real identity" from Americans as well. Despite the SCOTUS cases and the millions yelling for his birth certs!!!
So is this the real B.O.? A corrupt blackmailer???

Not just his birth certificates - everything that he wrote during his education is sealed.

At first glance, it sounds like a good idea. On paper, it allows individuals to look deeper into what their quasi-kings are doing. In practice, I suspect that B.O. would just come up with some new classification to hide his dirty secrets. (maybe "super duper classified" or something) Such is the nature of statists like B.O. :p

So, does he plan on actually releasing this information, or is he being hypocritical?

And for everythone who thinks things are looking up, of course they are! Right now he needs to make a strong impression so his supporters will continue to think he's trying to do the right thing when we all end up paying for his socialism!

Good!

If Barack Obama can follow through on his promises to make the government more transparent, then I support his efforts.

Please stop calling him B.O. You're demeaning the political discourse of our country. If you honestly disagree with him, then make honest arguments about why you disagree with him. Namecalling stopped being a legitimate debate tactic in kindergarden.

Listen. I'm not a libertarian because it's the "cool" thing to do. I am a libertarian because libertarianism is RIGHT. From an objective standpoint, taking power away from elected officials and putting it back in the hands of the people is the right thing to do. So when someone, anyone, in office does anything to further that cause, I will support that action, regardless of what I think of the person doing it.

If you are unable to say the same thing, then it may be time to re-examine your beliefs and ask yourself why you got involved with the Ron Paul revolution in the first place.

Of course. I have no doubt the plan is to drive a stake through the heart of the Republican Party so the socialist agenda can move forwarded unimpeded.

God...errrr....O-baa-ma!!!! Save us from the Republican's and never let them raise their ugly heads again!!!!!

well, if we find out after barry is out of office, that he isn't natural born, then every piece of legislation he signed would then become void.

He's keeping it, but with some additional security features.

We would have been better off with McCain, who would have spend the first year of his administration trying to figure out how to turn the Blackberry on...

It's just shorthand. You're reading too much into it, IMHO. Should I also stop using FDR, LBJ, JFK, MLK? Some in the media call him "Barry". I think mine is more formal and respectful.

I like the rest of what you said pretty well, though.
