Yes, I just saw that today!

Had a whole bunch of bull talking about pledging to do service, following through with liberal issues, heil obama, pledge to obama, etc.

"It's a party, and you aren't invited!" ;)

Who was that "star" that pledged only to flush after a "deuce" not a "single."?

I don't want him over at my place.

I'm sure that all the people in the video are well intentioned, but it reminds me of the old German slogan. "freedom through work"

Whoa, I couldn't believe what I heard at the end there!

"I pledge, to be a servant to our president and all mankind, because together we can, together we are, and together we will be the change that we seek."

Wait a minute -- to be a servant to our president?? Do these people have any idea why this country was founded?

If they knew what Ghandi meant by “be the change you want to see in the world” they would be making salt instead of propaganda.

LMAO!!

I like how these people like Demi Moore (nice role in Striptease btw) say they want to free 1,000,000+ slaves in the 21st century, yet they all pledge to be SERVANTS to the President.

A patriot isn't a servant to a politician.

I'm not saying their right.

But you've got to understand, these people genuinely identify with Obama. I like where their hearts are at, as for their minds..well, lets leave it at that.

Obedience is not a bad virtue to have. Of course, the big question is obedient to whom?

I don't want to be a rebel, I think that's an unhealthy state. Sacrifice and serving the country are not bad things. It is what this country was built on. But people in the Revolution movement know the real deal about sacrifice and serving an idea, serving the cause of liberty, not serving the state. These liberal do-gooders think they'll save the planet by changing their light bulbs and flushing their toilets less and I say, if they feel that way then LET THEM. Its a good spirit to have and a good space to occupy, they just need further education and awakening but their on the right track.

Misguided patriotism.

They should be doing everything they already said if it brings them happiness. A lot of it sounds great. Good for them! I encourage them to pursue their passions.

I pledgeD to help restore the republic, to re-ignite the torch of freedom and make the USA once again the envy of all nations.

Nothing new here.

Yeah I can't stand how most of them are eco-friendly.

Tells me their only modelling who's ordering them around.

You want to be local, thats fine, but this is bullshit.

And Anthony Kiedis just went to the bottom of my shit list for that stupid comment about being a servant...

The millions watching the inauguration will see that video, which will be shown, and will get the impression that they have to serve the president instead of the other way around.

I'm awfully disappointed that none of the women in that add pledged to end blue balls. I mean that to me is the pledge that could change the world.

God it's like the borg on friggin star trek.

Well while we are making pledges.

I pledge to fight against big governement. I pledge to fight for the constitution. I pledge to fight socialism.

They may not be just servants of the president, but defenders of him at every turn. Their unquestioned attachment to his presidency will make it hard for outside voices to protest and draw attention to different issues.

One of Obama's closest advisers says
“You do not need to have demonstrations in front of the White House to convince this president that there is a disparate impact in the African-American community around issues such as health care and education. He’s got that,” says Jarrett in a telephone interview with the NNPA News Service. “The campaign stood for change. It stood for a grassroots, bottom-up drive toward a better country. That does not have to be confrontational. It can be engaging.”

Here's the link: http://www.afro.com/tabid/456/itemid/2446/No-Need-to-March-Says-Obama-Adviser.aspx

The ramifications of this belief is very threatening to the revolution. Read the following blog..
http://freedomrider.blogspot.com/2009/01/valerie-jarrett-who-asked-you-soon-to.html

If these people around Obama and those beneath him who worship him see protest as some kind of disease or some irrational outburst of change then WE are in trouble. These people around him won't hesitate to quell dissent and establish martial law, and these 'servants' will soon be snoops, snitching on their fellow citizens. This is indeed very scary if things dramatically get worse.

"I pledge to be a servant to our president." - Demi Moore

Socialism/Collectivism here we come fast and furious.

These people have amnesia - they have lost all sense of what America was founded on. You're not supposed to worship the government for christ sakes :(

You know, you gotta wonder what things would be like if Bush hadn't been such a total failure on every level and then some. Would there be all this ridiculous worship for his successor if he had been a good president, and done wonderful things for the country? I tend to think not.

I agree with serving you comunity and country, but we DO NOT SERVE POLITICIANS. THEY SERVE AT OUR PLEASURE AS ELECTED OFFICIALS, HAVING BEEN DELEGATE OUR AUTHORITY.

Those morons losers who "pledge to serve Obama" are scary. They don't even know what they mean. Why couldn't they have simpley said that they pledge to serve our country? Why? Because the only thing they really serve is their own self-interest. They are fake - it's what they do as actors, they act. I still can't put into words here how badly they disguust and anger me. Their attitude of proactiveness, to make an effort to improve the world is a good thing. If that proactiveness is channeled into obedience to and service to the government, however, it is very dangerous indeed.

People who have believed they can reshape the world for the better through government have caused most of the major atrocities in the last century.

I am not saying these people would necessary support this kind of evil, but it is a dangerous road to be on.
