We've had support from CP. They put RP lit and DVDs at their state fair booth, and have helped us in other ways.

See if they will mail/email their list to get their people out to vote in caucuses and primaries.

I contacted the Maryland contact before the MD straw poll. He had only good things to say about Ron Paul.

That may work in open primary states that allow independents to vote in the primaries.

In WV, voting is only for Republicans, there isn't much incentive for a 3rd party to give us a mailing list for mailings that will basically try to get their members to switch parties.

That being said, many are switching just for this vote, we even have CP and LP people pledging to be Repub delegates who have already switched.

Yupp. The vast majority of LP WV members (by which I mean dues-paying members of the party) are registered Republican to vote for Dr. Paul! :)

i can't get a response from Washington CP. I've sent a pair of emails to everyone on their list asking for support and notifying them of Dr. Paul's upcoming visit.

Good luck with this.

Sweet. I know of at least 2 CP people that have switched just to vote for Dr Paul. If we could get their Governor candidate to endorse Paul, that would help. I'll talk to my contact with the CP about it Saturday, test the waters shall we say.

I haven't had a chance to meet Pastor Butch yet, but we (LP and CP) are hopefully going to be working together on an anti-realID push in the state legislature.

Cool, good to work on common ground. Haven't met him yet, just a few supporters here in Charleston. I hope to go to their next meeting to check it out.

Emminent Domain would be a good common ground issue too.

Yeah, LP and CP have a lot of common ground. We're like natural allies, and Dr. Paul is a natural ally of ours as a Republican, too. :)

I think the CP and LP are both on board in Utah. The state chairmen from both came to the first Utah Meetup back in May and were quite supportive.

Nearly all of the LP and CP folks are already voting for Paul, so I wouldn't worry about it. I am an LPer voting for Paul.

Ideally I would like to see the Constitution and Libertarian party join with the Ron Paul campaigners. We need more than just votes, we need promoters too.

It's against the Libertarian bylaws to nominate somebody outside of their party (at least on the national level), so we're not going to get an official nomination from the party. However, 70% of Libertarians support Ron Paul. So, no worries there. Also, the Constitution Party had been really friendly towards him. They even posted an article with a great summery of him on their website.

Jim Clymer, who is the National Chairman of the CP, was kind enough to allow our Minnesota meet-up group to use their Iowa CP supporters' list to mail DVDs to and call and or email to help us recruit their members to the Iowa Straw Poll. Can't thank him enough. Mention that.

The Minnesota (my former home) CP's September newsletter had this to say about RP:

The Ron Paul Question by Chair Tammy Houle

A number of people have asked if the Constitution Party of Minnesota is supporting or endorsing Ron Paul for president since he embodies almost everything we could hope for in a candidate. We are a party of principle over politics and Ron Paul’s voting record since being in Congress has consistently shown, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he is a man who stands for and acts on the very Constitutional principles we affirm.

It is for that very reason, after a vote of the executive committee, we agreed to allow the Ron Paul campaign to distribute his literature and materials from our State Fair booth. Having his materials in our booth does not say that we are endorsing him at this time, but we may consider doing so before the 2008 election if he were to get the GOP nomination. To endorse a candidate of another party requires a change in our by-laws brought forth to and by the entire membership of the party. We hope and pray that it be in God’s will for Dr. Paul to get the GOP nomination. However it is hard to envision such a scenario when the Republican establishment’s pattern is to nominate a moderate at their convention, leaving the Christian/conservative base without representation.

The Constitution Party of Minnesota must prepare the ark and mount a challenge should Dr. Paul get rejected by the GOP, which is most likely. We must be ready to offer a home to those who find themselves left high and dry again. That means we will be working towards getting ballot access next summer for a Constitutional presidential candidate, whoever that man may be

Also, although Montana has no branch of the national CP, we have a state-level Constitution Party with a very similar platform. With no national organization above them, they can probably choose just about any presidential candidate they want. However, I know some of the party's leaders, and I'm sure that they are aware of and support Ron Paul already.

Robert M. Owens is on board with Ron Paul.
Ohio Constitution Party

Thanks for the endorsement guys. I give all glory to God and I am thankful to Him for our heritage of Liberty.

The CP has had an eye on Ron Paul for a while. We are working hard to get ballot access for President and Vice President complete here in Ohio to provide Ron Paul options should he be "stabbed in the back" by the Neo-Cons. Only 5000 signatures of registered voters are needed. Work is already underway.

If anyone is interested in helping, there is a ballot access petition online at www.cpofohio.com that can be downloaded. The CP has "stand in" candidates of Jim Clymer and Chuck Baldwin and that will be changed next year after the National Convention. If Ron Paul wants the nomination, he would get it hands down.

The major issue is nationwide ballot access and the CP is on target to have access in at least 48 states.

The CP is the nations third largest political party by number of members ( source www.ballotaccessnews.com ). Several years ago there was a split over allowing State Parties to control their own agenda. The National Party Delegates in Conference decided that each State should have the right to determine its own destiny. 7 States, including Ohio, disaffiliated as a result.

I am the new Chairman rebuilding the party. The Ohio Party is now back up and running and is the official affiliate of the National Party. The National Party, the Ohio Party and the Nevada Party (The State causing the problem to begin with) are all 100% pro life. That was the divisive issue and was a result of the Nevada State Chairman wanting to recognize some exceptions to the Pro Life plank of the platform in his personal run for Governor of Nevada - not a change to the State Platform (Nevada State platform remains 100% pro life).

It should be noted that many members of the old group that disaffiliated are very good Americans and have donated huge sums of money and time in the defense of liberty. I hope to have an inclusive party going forward.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
