Im working on a new video, and i was just thinking about how badass it would be if there was a R3volution logo, that had the "3vol" on fire, instead of just red and in video format, not picture format.

Does anybody know what tools could be used to accomplish an effect like this?

you could make a quick, short video of it that loops well when set on repeat....then, after you do that, user eRightsoft's "SUPER" video editor to turn it into a GIF.

Yea, if i figure this out, i'll probably make a .gif for the community to use but, the main objective is to get a high quality motion version for my video, if possible.

Im really not sure about how to make a fire effect around text in Adobe Premiere, if you even can.

Any idea?

I'm sorry...I'm really no expert at making videos so much as I am codecs, resolutions, bit-rates, and a few other things.....I know how to do some very basic editing in Photoshop...but, I'm sorry, I won't be of much help in the initial video-making.

You could make a mask layer of the text and have a video loop of fire inside it.

You'd need some 3D software like Vue xStream or a 3DS max plug-in by Afterworks.

Not a bad idea, but it'd be preferable to have flames coming off the text as well.

To do it proper you're talking high end 3D, programs like 3D Max (PC) or Cinema4D (Mac), although unless high end, 3D fire doesn't usually look realistic. Fire is usually shot as a real element, then composited in. Compositing is usally done in After Effects.

Good luck :)

That sounds way above my head, lol.

I was hoping there was a simple plugin or something of the sort.

no problem dude, glad I could be of some help!

It's an excellent piece of freeware that does it's job very...very well.

however, if you encode something with WIndows Movie Maker, and use the digital video in an AVI container....it doesn't work well with those for some reason.....WMM messes it up, or something.

Hope it can be just as much use to you :)

if your editing software allows you to use multiple avi, mpg, or gif files in layers then it's very doable.

Make the lettering in Flash (not too hard to make letters that have flames (http://www.flashden.net/files/2948/index.html) .. click the orange thing at the top to edit the text.. that's one example..) then either export as animated GIF, SWF, or FLV, import into your video editor and use it as a layer in front of your other video. Not as clean as using a plug-in for that effect directly, but it'll do it.

Do you have any advice on how to get the box around the EVOL on fire as well?

This is a great method, thanks again!

If you have a Mac, just get the Final Cut Studio. It will do EVERYTHING.

I don't know if you're still doing this, but I think I may have found the solution for you and it looks great. It's a filter for After Effects so it should be easy to use.

Here's a preview of what it can do: http://jaswet.com/download/IncenseTest3.wmv

Download the Alpha 2 here: http://jawset.com/forum/

I have got Autodesk combustion and FumeFX both, If I send you a render with transparent background can you strap it in a foreground layer of your vid??

But for that I might need the revolution font, that shouldn't be a problem.
PM me if u want.
