sounds promising?

WASHINGTON – Tom McClintock arrived in Washington last week, ready to say no.

He'll say no to President-elect Barack Obama's plan to spend roughly $800 billion to rev up the economy. He'll say no to spending billions to bail out the auto industry. And he'll say no to his home state of California and others looking to Congress to get out of their budget messes.

Will he oppose the war? Does it even matter? DC seems like a lost cause to me.

Tom McClintock's position has been clear and consistent; citing General Douglas MacArthur, McClintock says "there is no substitute for victory."

What exactly is he saying 'Nay' to?

Close to 300 in the House needed to have a veto-proof majority (two-thirds).

This is some encouraging news. McClintock was somebody that slipped in under the radar. I don't think many RPers were enthusiastic including myself after he had endorsed Frankenstein. WTF did he mean when he said

"I learned a long time ago that the minority doesn't get to govern," he said. "The people decided that the Democrats should have the majority and should govern."

It almost seems too obvious to be taken literally. For a second I thought he was making an analogy to the "wolves deciding whats for dinner" but then the last sentence...
