All the Socialist States are HIGH TAXES and MASSIVE GOVERNMENT!

FAIL!

I hear, New Jersey's government pension plan is like $45 BILLION in the RED!

There's your BIG government, feeding their own, at the expense of the taxpayers.

I hope they take EVERYTHING form Californians, New Jersey, New York, & Mass taxpayers... it's the only way they will finally wakeup and realized how bad they are being F#%ked on a Imperial Socialist system that threw them overboard 25 years ago!

Heck, just send the IOU to the mortgage company or credit card company promising to pay when your state pays you back. California and the other welfare states are clusterf*ckus extremis states going belly up.

Since news of this possibility was first posted I have prayed that this would come true.

I hope many states are to follow. Only this will begin to awaken a distrust of government and a questioning as to what the tax goes to.

Good news indeed.:)

So basically, their government stole their money.

If a government prioritizes giving money to those who have not worked for it over returning the money it took from those who have worked for it.........no budget that government can create is capable of saving it from itself.

Exactly, RP Meetups in Cali need to hammer this one home. There will be no quicker way to enlighten them than when the are denied, and I am sure counting on, a refund of the monies they have given in good faith (at gun point :D).

The money is being liberated. Just like Iraq. Better to not send it back when the "state" obviously knows how to spend it better. Plus, you might not spend it but save it, which is illegal in the Kingdom of California.

Simple solution for the taxpayer is obvious, stop paying taxes. That would effectivly fire the government, which should be done anyway, considering the fact that government fails miserably at everything is attempts to accomplish. Would the IRS Audit an entire state's population? Shit the Irs Would run out of money just trying to do that.

would be a great idea if you could get everyone on board, but that wouldn't happen. They'd create a mass hysteria via the media saying that if 'we don't pay our taxes'.. american children will die (all the while funneling monies to the illegals).

Paying your taxes is like getting mugged. The refund is what the mugger drops as they run away. When money is tight, they make sure not to drop any.

People in California should stop paying their taxes at this point. I usually don't say things that would be considered illegal, but California has broken its commitment to the taxpayers- and the people can't be expected to simply accept it.

It's encourageing diversity at the same time, another one of your greatest wishes, make us all diversely homeless, hungry, and broke. Level playing field indeed. Just released:

After Feb 1st, California will no longer pay out income tax refunds, welfare, or any other payments to its citizens.

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-budget17-2009jan17,0,4472460.story

Reporting from Sacramento -- State Controller John Chiang announced today that his office would suspend tax refunds, welfare checks, student grants and other payments owed to Californians starting Feb. 1, as a result of the state's cash crisis.

Chiang said he had no choice but to stop making some $3.7 billion in payments in the absence of action by the governor and lawmakers to close the state's nearly $42-billion budget deficit. More than half of those payments are tax refunds.

The controller said the suspended payments could be rolled into IOUs if California still lacked sufficient cash to pay its bills come March or April.

"I take this action with great reluctance," Chiang said at a news conference in his office. But he said that without action to close the deficit, "there is no way to make it through February unscathed."

The payments to be frozen include nearly $2 billion in tax refunds; $300 million in cash grants for needy families and the aged, blind and disabled; and $13 million in grants for college students.

I'd bet those toll taxes are put in a "general fund" much like social security. Now that all is tapped out they can't cover anything.

End your states and our Federal Governments "general fund". Each tax apportioned for its purpose only. The only way to true accountability.

I may not have a paycheck come March because of this BS. The clinic I work in is rural and 30% of the patients are on medi-cal the state program which is broke. Not to mention the M.A.P. program (medical assistance program) which recieves $1 million for the county but pays $24 million for people on welfare etc...the hospitals and clinics which depend on these funds to care and treat the poor and indigent and yes illeagals are in serious trouble and might not be able to pay doctors or nurses. When that happens who will care for these people and what will they do when there is no medicines? no clinics? as it is right now we have NO gastroenterologist who is willing to accept medi-cal thus patients are left without care, period. Imagine, if you had a rectal bleed that could not get treated? This sucks and at the same time is becoming terrifying thinking of scenarios if the SHTF and it might not be far off. but a bailout is just as ridiculous yet Arnold and the legislature refuse and lack the courage to make cuts neccessary to save ordinary citizens. You and me. Watch California closely it will fortell what happens to the rest of the states such as NJ, MN, OR, NV, AZ, FL, NY, MA, and so on...

"It doesn't make any sense to talk about education, infrastructure, water, health care reform and all these things when we have this huge budget deficit," Schwarzenegger said in his annual state of the state speech.

Of course the Obama adminisatration and the Democratic House and Senate will gladly bailout California much the same way they ran to bailout the auto industry in Michigan, Ohio, Illinios with the financial industry bailout. Essentially buying future voters by becoming the saviors to the problem they create. I wont be surprised one bit when the 875 Billion Obama wants for roads and infrastructure instead goes to bailout California with a huge political base and electoral vote. What better way to kill off the GOP in California then with taxpayers maoney?
