Does anyone else feel like that whole speech was like living in a Bizarro World?

Was there any sense of irony when Bush stated that the "murder of innocents to push forward an ideology" is wrong all of the time? This same guy who is responsible for ~1 million Iraqi deaths, thousands of Palestinian deaths, God knows how many Afghan deaths, etc., etc; he claims to lecture us on how terrorism is wrong... well, how do you define all the murder committed under Bush's tenure? Spreading democracy!? Pshh..

This is truly a Bizarro World.

He could've redeemed himself if he'd gotten up there and said just one sentence.

"You thought I was bad, you just wait!"

no one caught that "isolationism and protectionism is the worst" it was interesting. and seemed like taking a shot at ron paul and libertarians.

Actually, I think it was more a swipe at Lou Dobbs. Lou wants to keep more jobs here in the U.S. Those for supposed FREE trade (NAFTA) come on his show and think he's protectionist.

How are we supposed to 'fare well' from here? The Son of a Bar should've just said, "Thanks, suckers!" and shut the hell up for once.

I don't know. Bush's farewell speech means that we'll soon be hearing a certain someone's inauguration speech. That makes me sad.

He looked like he was having a hard time getting that horse crap out of his mouth.

"We must never back down from terrorism" and "We must ensure that all countries are peaceful" or however exactly he said it, all added up to "Never stop the war"

I can't even look at that POS anymore.

I fear, in the near future, we may have to endure his as evil, but far smarter brother--Jeb. Just take the psychopathic old bastard Bush Senior at his own words:

"If the people knew what we had done, they would chase us down the street and lynch us.”

—President George H. W. Bush Sr in a conversation with White House press corps Sarah McClendon, December 1992

They get closer every day. I don't think the old bastard realizes that making a guillotine is not a lost art.

PATRIOT ACT, Bankruptcy Reform Act, FISA, Corporate Immunity, Government Immunity, Thought Crimes Act, BANK BAILOUT ACT...

The speech writers worked Overtime to PROPAGANDINIZE the LIES into TRUTH.... then again, it's both the Puppets and Parrots of CONGRESS that enabled all this...

I don't see any of them RUSHING to REVERSE this Totalitarian Acts against the people, they "SO-CALL" represent.

Yeah, and he quoted Jefferson. WTF????

Read your history. Jefferson was an interventionist, and got us involved in a conflict in the middle east. Yes he said a lot of nice things but didn't they all?

Bush will go down in history books as a good president who "stood tough" on terrorism. There are no good guys in government (besides Ron Paul), even most of the esteemed founding fathers.

Didn't the pasha of tripoli declare war on us?? And yes I do also know about there never actually being a true declaration of war. Also I do know about the Embargo acts during Jefferson's term. For Bush to evoke Jefferson when Jefferson most probably wouldn't have approved of 75% of what Bush signed into law is what I'm referring to, esp. domestic policy like the patriot act, bailouts, etc... But just like you said what they say isn't what they always do. ;)
