They are asking for a wad of money. I hope they don't go down, but if they did it would be a load off my mind because show business is hard work. However if they did indeed get a shot from the government it would really suck the taxpayer dry. Once again the honest tax paying American takes it on the chin. No wonder it's so hard to get ahead these days. We really need to get a grip because you never know what is coming after the stroke of a pen. Apparently the shrinking caucus is surrounded by Bush and eager to shove some legislation down the throats of the People. We really need a one-on-one debate where the two sides can pound each other with their oral arguments. The whole thing is hard to swallow.

When the banks get on their knees, we're all screwed. Thank you Matt for keeping us abreast of the situation. When some businesses get rewarded for being naughty, everyone wants to dick around.

Yet somehow the banks still punish us for an early withdrawl of our deposits.

On a more serious note the reason the porn industry is failing because there is a lot of free porn sites springing up on the internet and there is less of an incentive to actually pay for them. And they can't run off of ads because no one will advertise other then other porn sites.

I have a feeling they are really trying to make a point, but won't mind having millions of dollars if it so happens that way. The industry must know how silly bailouts are, and are more or less calling the governments bluff.

I think they (Flynt and other guy) are trying to make a point, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a joke. I think they truly want that money, and they truly do believe they deserve it. And in a way, they do deserve it. How are they going to stay competitive against other industries if everyone except them receives a bailout?
