Hey -

Can you meet me in Nashville on Wed night (1/14) at 6pm?

Some high ranking individuals within the local Republican Party have challenged me to pack their next meeting with Ron Paul supporters! That's right, some of the "big tent" Republicans are secretly inviting all Ron Paul supporters to their next meeting! They want to know how many Ron Paul supporters exist and if we are willing to show up and be involved. Let's overwhelm them with our numbers and prove that those who support the Constitution are indeed active in the political process.

This showing of Ron Paul Republicans WILL make waves and WILL be talked about within the TN Republican Party! Both Ron and Rand Paul have given us an admonition to change the Republican Party from within by simply attending their monthly meetings.

And I know you might be thinking this is some sort of "set up", but it's not. How do I know? Because the Nashville / Davidson County Republican Party just created a new position, and made me an officer. That's right, a known Ron Paul supporter (me) has been given voting privileges on the local Republican executive committee!

Here is what the Chair of the Nashville / Davidson County Republican Party said about me:
"Matt Collins, a member of the County Party and good Republican who has a very bright future with our Party...it is extremely important for all to know that Matt ... is the type of young leader that this Party needs to grow in the future and in even more challenging roles."

What did I do to become a voting member of my local GOP executive board?

Well, I simply showed up to 5 or 6 meetings, became a member, and offered to help update their website which was many months outdated. That's it! And I am not disseminating this to inflate my own ego, but rather showing that some Republicans are sincere about including Ron Paul supporters in the local Republican Party and that it's easy to get involved and make a change. No compromise of liberty required!

But this isn't a local phenomenon; In case you haven't noticed the Republican Party is in the middle of an internal struggle. Ron Paul and his supporters are not only in the middle of it, we are the catalyst for it! The GOP is desperate for new members and fresh ideas and right now at this very moment is our time to step up and change the Republican Party from within. Most Republicans want to hear from us, want our ideas, want our participation and involvement, want our passion; THEY WANT OUR LEADERSHIP!

A couple of nights ago several Republicans seeking the position of the national RNC Chair held a debate and spent a lot of time praising Ron Paul and his ideas:

You can read the Wall Street Journal article about it here:

You can watch the video of the debate here:

So if you are anywhere within the State of TN and can make it to Nashville on Wednesday night (1/14/09) for our local Republican meeting it would be greatly appreciated! I kind of have a bet going to see how many fellow Ron Paul supporters will actually take the time to show up. Will I be embarrassed in front of the local Republicans, or will they be impressed with our resolve? Oh, and also two state Senators will be there, and the Lt. Governor has been invited too.

Be there; it's what Ron would want you to do. But don't do it for Ron, don't do it for me, do it for your country.

Why else would anyone bother showing up to these things? For fun? Probably not (although I consider them fun, but I'm a nerd). Would they show up because Ron and Rand told them to do so a while back? Possibly, but more than likely that isn't going to be the motivation. Would people show up because they believe that they can really affect change in the country and this is the first step to bringing the GOP and thus the government back to a Constitutional stance? Yes....

Okay, I guess I over-reacted there. I'm used to neocons making that kind of statist/nationalist emotional appeal, so I'm rather paranoid about it nowadays.

You guys need to have so many people show up you can't all fit in the same room. That would be nice to have a line out the door and out on to the grass.

Use this as a guide:

Of course change "Marshall" to "Liberty"
