The numbers are in. BillO's Monday night show with Ron Paul 2,308,000 viewers vs BillO's Friday night show 1,885,000 viewers.

Here are the charts:

Friday Night:

Monday Night with Ron Paul:
http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/the_scoreboard_monday_sept_10_66787.asp#more

The chart on top of each page is the 25-54 year old demographic and the bottom chart is all viewers. The numbers are in 1,000's. Ex. 1234 = 1,234,000 viewers

Bottom line, Ron Paul is popular! Also note that the difference between the 25 -54 demo and the all viewers is 1,798,000 viewers who are 55 or older. Good numbers for that age group. This proves that not all Ron Paul supporters are 20-somethings.

I'm going to congratulate BillO on his good ratings and remind him why they were good. ;)

I feel we need to compare RP on BO Monday Night with ratings from a previous monday. I just think they'll use something as an excuse to assume the numbers weren't in response to RP being on there.

Make sure you watch the end of his show tonight. He will have to read all of the mail about how rude he was to Dr. Paul.

In the audio clip from today in my signature Dr. Paul alludes to how he was interrupted so often last night.

Any way to compare the past 2 Friday and Monday ratings? I would imagine Friday would be low anyways since many people go out.

Here's the link to the previous Monday, September 3rd for a better comparison. Ratings will generally be higher on weeknights than on Friday and Saturday nights, especially among the 25-54 group. But ratings seem to be higher on Fridays than Mondays except for yesterday of course. Maybe ratings were down on the 3rd because of the holliday.

I think you should have compared last night's ratings to last monday's ratings to get a better picture of the amount of increase to due the interview he did with Paul.

Edit: nevermind, already done :)

He'll pick the one that makes Paul supporters look the most insane and run with it.

Hate to break it to you guys, but as someone who studies TV, I can tell you that ratings are usually around 20% lower on Friday nights compared to Sun-Thurs. But over 2 million for a cable news broadcast is still a very good number.

That ratings bump may explain why Brit Hume did some coverage today.

Look at BO ratings in the 25 to 54, demographic. He is virtually head to head with Olbermann now. But then look at household total which shows BO trouncing Olbermann. There is no doubt that BO and fox news owns the senior citizen demographic. Unfortunately, these are the Giuliani supporters, that answer their landline phones for a political poll.

Response to all the Monday night v. Friday night ratings.
Most of BillO's viewers are 55+. They don't generally go out much on Friday night like the 25 - 54 crowd. Also BillO's ratings in general are between 1.2 and 1.8 million. I think this bump is real and I think my comparison is valid.

Your right and that is why these numbers are so important. The 55+ crowd needs to hear Dr. Paul's message.

IMHO, you need to compare it to next Monday night, so you are comparing one O'Reilly Factor vs. Monday Night Football with another O'Reilly Factor vs. Monday Night Football.

Also something that needs to be taken in to account was whether someone was filling in for Bill or not. A lot of Fridays he has Malkin or John Kasich filling in, and those shows aren't watched as much. I usually tune in, but missed Friday so I'm not sure. Kudos to Dr. Paul regardless!
