225 votes.

Some of them for the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Some for Al Frankenstin.

But Al Franken will be in the US Senate.

How's Dr. Paul feel about this?

I would expect Ron Paul to not have much opinion on the matter, as do I. Nothing special about seeing another liberal Democrat seated, but Coleman was an ultra-corrupt Neo-con, so I'm not sorry to see him go. The only candidates worth voting for in the MN Senate race were Dean Barkley and James Niemackl.

Coleman will be suing, so not over yet.

Al Franken should thank the RNC for his win. Had they allowed Dr. Paul to speak at the Minnesota convention how many more votes would have Coleman received? I say about 255.

Yes, Coleman should be suing the RNC for gross stupidity.

I had a feeling this is how it'd turn out...in any event, hopefully the lawsuit proceeds quickly and is settled just as quickly, that way the Senate race will be finished.

in any event 59 Senate seats isn't comforting...they only have to sway 1 Republican to vote "their" way and the bill will pass.

DIdn't the MN GOP deny Ron Paul an appearance or a speaking gig or something?

Apparently they needed the Ron Paul Republicans after all.

Yeah, he had to speak outside. Funny, the weather was bad until it was his turn to speak, then after he was done, the weather got bad again.

Yes, I just went and looked it up. There were either 400 or 1,000 people there, depending on which report you believe. Let's say 700.

And Coleman lost by 225?

Snicker.

Al Franken?

Al freakin' Franken? How does Stuart Smalley end up in the Senate?

If this doesn't tell the RNC that it needs to get its stuff together, nothing will. The people are fed up with neocon BS- so much so that they'll even elect a joke like Franken.

It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.

Yeah I'll take Franken any day over Coleman. He should be funny, plus I tend to lean towards the challenger any time the incumbant has already demonstrated they suck. (At least we can HOPE the challeneger will change)

mr. roland burris was not allowed into the senate today... wanna take bets
as to who ultimately gets to sit in the senate, whether its one of the two
dudes or BOTH? again, this could go coleman's way as illinois is in a miasma...

I'm actually pleased with the result. It should be entertaining at the least.

How long before he appears on SNL to make hay of his election?

I'm sure soon after the election is certified, if it is, in Franken's favor.

hahahaha....Al FRANKEN is a U.S. SENATOR.

A pig just flew by my window!

It was lose-lose on this one. Norm Coleman was a horrible Senator, and either one of them winning is a loss for our nation.

Great, another Progressive Liberal Entertainment Hollywood Democrat... you know, the clowns that think, because they have Fame and/or riches they are so much smarter the rest of the country. Well, another democratic assist to slinging money in all directions to see what works and watch the manipulation of the statistics during re-election years.

If Minnesota wanted another entertainer, why couldn't Penn Gillette run for US Senate? ;)

The RNC, Michael Steele, and the NeoClowns (Boehner, Pence, Cantor, & crowd) can conjure-up more excuses, but watch them try to change their phoney tune s towards 3rd parties, in their quest and thrist for power and control.

RNC is a lead brick in the current state.

I had the (mis)fortune of seeing a presentation by one of Franken's opponents for the DFL nomination, Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer. He began his presentation with, "The free market doesn't work" and ended it with, "We need to reduce the population to achieve a sustainable society."

At least we can openly laugh at Franken; people actually take Nelson-Pallmeyer seriously!

replacing a liberal jew from new york with a slightly more liberal jew from new york is no loss for republicans in MN.

I sorta wanted to see that TARP voting neo-con beotch ousted anyway.
