Wow, simply unbelievable.


"I've abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system," Bush told CNN television, saying he had made the decision "to make sure the economy doesn't collapse."

Bush's comments reflect an extraordinary departure from his longtime advocacy for an unfettered free market, as his administration has orchestrated unprecedented government intervention in the face of a dire financial crisis.

CNN is staggeringly full of B.S. Since when has Bush ever been an advocate of "unfettered free market(s)"???

This type of crap is the reason free marketeers are so hated right now. Bush ran a command-and-control, dictatorial Administration that disregarded the Constitution and sound economics at every turn, and yet some people are still under the delusion that Bush was a laissez-faire capitalist!!! :eek:

Just read this doublespeak. Just like Atlas Shrugged government. They blame the only force that could save the economy. It is amazing to me that most people won't listen to people who believe in economic freedom and personal liberty.

Bush actually sounded a lot like Ron Paul during his run for presidency in 2000. Non intervention foreign policy and free market.

But yeah, this comment in itself should be grounds for impeachment. Maybe he'll admit to making up WMD's and terrorists in Iraq so that he can go to war, to save the oil for the future generations.
