As Washington, D.C., prepares itself for what will likely be one of the largest inauguration audiences in history, some of the country's wealthiest individuals in Hollywood and New York are financing the event as it grows into a major production. So far the presidential inaugural committee has collected at least $9.7 million from at least 239 contributors, according to CRP's analysis of the donors released Friday by the president-elect's transition team.

The average contribution to the presidential inaugural committee is $40,470.29, which is much higher than the average $659.31 donation to Obama's transition committee. The cap on contributions to the two committees varies greatly, however, with individuals permitted to give up to $50,000 to the inauguration efforts but only $5,000 to the overall transition efforts. And wealthy donors have certainly taken advantage of the opportunity to give more money to Obama via the inaugural committee--72 percent of the donors who have contributed to the inauguration have given the maximum $50,000 donation. Only 12 percent of the donors have given less than $25,000. Donors have to give at least $200 make the list, which the inaugural planning committee will update regularly, according to

The People will want a list of Barack Obama's Major Donors.

The People will then want to have a look-see at photos of these people's homes, photos of their children's private schools (along with lists of tuition fees), photos of their cars, photos of their pets (along with annual lists of approximate pet care expenses), photos of their wives (along with lists of approximate beauty and wardrobe expenses), and most especially, the American People will want to have a look-see at:

1.) who has been voting for/lobbying for war without their own children going into harm's way

2.) who has been paying cash under the table to undocumented household help

3.) who came out of the Contrived Crisis unscathed, perhaps sold big for handsome profits before the "Adjustment."

I contend that ALL of this information is vital to the Public Interest, and that a veritable treasure trove awaits scrappy entrepreneurs with journalistic flair and a penchant for investigation -- strike that, I mean research.

The low-down on Media Celebrities would also be enlightening. Inquiring minds want to know, what is Wolf Blitzer's salary and benefit package?

So let me get this straight: The government wants to use OUR money to bail out incompetent companies while we have rich a**hats giving TONS of money for a party? Does that sound totally backwards to anyone else? Priorities much?
