Yeah that's not really a shocker. I'm a little disappointed they didn't at least give RP a runners-up shout out though, I honestly think he deserved it.

I mean come on, how many thousands and thousands of people bombarded their request line with Ron Paul, and he doesnt even make it into the 17 runner ups. What a disgrace.

Who were the 17 runner ups?

Remember it doesn't mean it's a positive thing..
Since 1927, TIME Magazine has chosen a man, woman, or idea that for better or worse, has most influenced events in the preceding year.

His white shirt and the monotone gray walls behind him remind me of a mental institution. Not the most flattering pic they had, I assume.

Honestly I would have been embarrassed if Ron Paul made it anywhere near the top of their list. The fact that he didn't make the top of their list should be considered a compliment. I was going to point out that Hitler also made time person of the year.. but somebody already did that. ;)

Given the uptick in global terrorist activity, a logical presumption is that the Time Warner corporate headquarters will receive a bomb threat or other gesture of outrage.

'Course maybe no one wants to interrupt advertising revenue for the News/Information/Entertainment monolith . . . think of the jobs, and the children.

Time's person of the year has always been who was the most INFLUENTIAL person of that year. It's neither a compliment nor an insult to be chosen. Just because Hitler was chosen in 1939 doesn't make being Person of the Year a bad thing, it just means he was the most influential person (according to Time) that year, which is perfectly justified. I personally think Ron Paul should have at least been a runner-up. This is the type of thing we can't brush off and ignore just because we didn't get our way. And Time not choosing Paul doesn't make them any less credible. They are a very well respected news organization, and it's things like Time that we need to cooperate with, not battle. So for everyone bashing Time and calling them names or whatever, just move on and fight the good fight. All we can do this point is educate people and hope for the best in four years.

A well-respected news organization? This is the same controlled media that stomped on Dr. Paul during the primaries and pimped all of the "acceptable" candidates that would tow the Party line and take care of the corporate elite. Well-respected my ass.

I didn't say well-respected by YOU. I said well-respected in general, as in the general populace. You can hate on all of the MSM all you want, but that's not going to do us any good. I agree that they ignore Ron Paul, but we can't let that piss us off to the point of ignoring them. They are the public's gateway to information, we need to utilize that.
