I propose an initiative to use a whole slew of initiatives and referenda in a coordinated libertarian assault on the fascist status quo in all states that allow it. In my state, initiatives must be filed with the legislature before signatures may be collected. If we filed a whole group of initiaives in a lot of states at the same time it could be a newsworthy event even before the first signatures are collected.

And the nominees are...

just a realistic note to let you know what you are getting into:

only 24 states have some form of initiative/referendum at the state level

it is very difficult, not impossible, to get something on the ballot and then get the votes to win against powerful, entrenched, moneyed groups

but don't let that stop you, Prop 8 won in CA

Spending max based on the past year's spending.

Say FL spent $8 billion last year...that's the most they can spend from now on. (a whole lot of state legislators would start paying a bit more attention to the Fed's inflation actions)

All of them a very excellent ideas but I think with the failing economy Nate's idea has the best chance to spread. When passed it would boost the local economy and the declining states would be jealous of the success and want in too.

I am going to have to change Section 3 to read: NEW SECTION: Sec. 3: The weights and measures of gold and silver are to be set in coordination with the provisions of US Code Title 31, Subtitle IV, Subchapter II, §5112. That particular section (one of the few Constitutional ones) is located here: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode31/usc_sec_31_00005112----000-.html (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode31/usc_sec_31_00005112----000-.html)

Yes I think this is a great idea. I'll be talking with my state coordinator to try to get this off the ground. I think we might do best making initiatives that have to do with the economy and do incremental changes. That way, we shouldn't have to raise $8 billion to get it passed.

Legalizing marijuana, and all drugs, and the right to consume food, liquids, and gases of your choice and act as a doctor for one's self or family should all be on our list.
