It's where you meet local Ron Paul supports in your area. You type in your Zip code and MeetUp shows you the local groups.

Meetup is a website that has been around for the last few years. It allows anybody on the internet to form a group on it asking people to come do an activity together. For example if a guy in Chicago wants people to play poker with - he could start a poker meetup group. Then others in Chicago who like poker would join. They pick a time to meet and those on the list get invited to the event.

Ron Paul meetup groups are local groups looking to spread the message of Ron Paul to others. People in the meetup groups also try to raise money for the cause. And last but not least you meet new friends who are like minded and you have fun.

Go to meetup.com and check out your local meetup group.

Of course if you're in a town rife with longtime political hacks, and one of them steps up to the plate to run the local meetup, there are ALOT of other Ron Paul supporters in town who won't go near it with a ten foot pole, as I've discovered about my own town.

There are a handful of us doing our own organizing and activities outside the meetup structure, myself included, and I'm sure this is also the case for lots of other similar sized towns.
