The view from outside shows a street filled with cameras moving past people as they jog, drive by, etc. One camera pans into the window of a quiet, average American family’s house. They’re huddled around a television smiling (watching fox news perhaps?). Suddenly, “enforcers” dressed in shiny black tactical gear bust through the door. Helicopters can be heard whirring outside and spotlights are shining into the home. An enforcer holds the family at gunpoint while his colleagues trash through their home taking “evidence” deemed illegal (books, movies, guns). “You’re under arrest for domestic terrorism! You’ve been deemed a hazard to the state.” The wife/mother begins crying - queue white fadeout as she gasps for air and rises from bed. Run text across the screen or have a voiceover; “When our liberties are taken for granted, nightmares become reality. To learn more, visit www.campaignforliberty.com”

Good idea, but an extreme example. But if they revived the old "Bicentennial Minute" concept and talked about the Constitution, that would be outstanding!

"Why habeus corpus?" Well suppose your spouse left you without telling anyone, and your neighbors' rumor mill decided that you widowed yourself...?"

Americans believe they are free, and they don't have nightmares like this. They might raise an eyebrow and think that the commercial was rather odd, but I wouldn't give them credit for doing any more than that.

Also, "he's catchin' on, I'm tellin' ya!"

History would be good.

In nineteen thirty something, the National Socialist regime united with powerful business interests and bankers...

Do what Sinclair Lewis tried to do and disabuse us of the notion that It Can't Happen Here.

PSAs are kind of a joke... no one runs them except at 3am. I work in broadcast, trust me.

If a group, whose soul purpose is to inform people that there's no such thing as "clean coal", can get ads on the air then why the hell can't we?

If nothing else it would let general public know that there is such a thing as the Campaign for Liberty.

I've posted a couple of ideas for PSA type ads that C4L could do. I'm not holding my breath.. "He's catchin' on I tell ya!"
