Well how nice of the local government to grant a private owner permission to be able to use his private establishment anytime he pleases:rolleyes:

District Raises a Glass to History

In the mood to celebrate President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration at a D.C. bar? For four days in January, they'll be open 24 hours a day.

Under emergency legislation approved by the D.C. Council yesterday, any District establishment with a liquor license, including restaurants and nightclubs, will be allowed to serve alcohol until 5 a.m. -- three hours later than usual -- and serve food round-the-clock from Jan. 17 until the morning after Obama's swearing-in on Jan. 20.

Self-important, self-serving, self-indulgent, greedy, corrupted, unapologetic, high-flying, moralizing, judgmental, punitive carpetbaggers. Fuck 'em.

George Bush has GOT to be chaffing at being left to twist in the wind as a record-book lousy president. And it is my understanding that His Royal Highness is signing Midnight Regulations right, left and center -- my bad, right, righter and rightest.

He should quietly de-criminalize marijuana and hemp -- steal some of Obama's thunder.

Also, bars can stay open until 5:00 a.m., when, I imagine, people will hobble over to the nearest restaurant with a liquor license. :)

Wow, it looks like our congressmen are really focusing on the important issues. Oh well, I'd prefer they be wasting their time on shit like this than to be using their time fucking up other, more important shit.

How nice of the government to grant peasants to be able to use their private property anytime they choose. We should all be thankful and rejoice that they have bestowed these rights upon us!

In the end, they have to stop selling alcohol at 5 am (but can start again at 6 am). At least that's what I got from Damien who was on our slate and manages a bar here.

No, I'm not saying this makes any sense.

I'm going to be Audi 5000 during this whole thing. They are estimating 4-5 million people clogging the very neighborhood where I reside. The whole city will be paralyzed. Screw that.

I'm going to rent a cabin at some state park or something.

My unexpected and capricious banning cited spamming.

I appreciate reinstatement, pending my argument that all of my replies are original and thoughtful. But what if, poof, I had simply been silenced for months?

Like late-night writers during the sham Iowa caucuses.

Someone challenged my assumption that TPTB read these forums. Why ELSE would we do this . . . to make friends and exchange recipes?

On a horse-drawn carriage tour of Savannah, I learned that the driver says "Step easy" when he wants that horse to nudge forward a little, as when the horse and driver mean to cross traffic. He says "Step up" when he wants the horse to get a move on, and step lively.

Ladies and Gentlemen, step up.

EZPZ.

NOW, while they shamelessly demand more booze and while they scrabble for every nickel and dime they can shake out of a working man's pockets, let us DEMAND the de-criminalization of marijuana and hemp.

Think emerging market.

The world is watching.

Spring is around the corner.

Two full rotations in one year.

Lady Liberty is in a forced gang-bang. The current rapist is about to quit in January and is about to be replaced by another. It's kind of tough to watch :(
