So it was more or less understood that our soldiers would be coming home from Iraq. Or that's at least what Obama said. Instead of bringing them home, his plan would involve simply moving them to Afghanistan. Now the plan is not what I'm criticizing - it's the approval of Obama's plan by the liberals/Democrats... "Oh, well... If he thinks we need to, then I guess he's right..."

Our Foreign Policy is a joke. What the hell do we gain in Afghanistan?

Obama never said he'd bring the troops home. His supporters just hear what they want to. If he really wanted the troops home he wouldn't have voted several times against legislation to do just that.

This is what me and my friend were afraid of. Under Bush, the war is horror. Under Obama, he knows what's best for us and any criticism is racist. It's already begun....

BINGO!

Same thing happened in New Hampshire -- remember that the polling surveys showed people voted for McCain because they "thought" he was the anti-war candidate.

Most people are so stupid and easily duped that... well 'nuff said.

I just wonder how long it's going to take the old "Bushies" in the GOP to flip their stance on the war(s). Seriously when the subject comes up about Obama's plans on the war... they get this "mental constipation" look on their faces and they have to revert to blurting out a series of "We have to support the troops" lines in order to keep their heads from exploding.

Once Obama takes office, and continues their little beloved "wars" -- it's going to be interesting to see whether their heads DO actually explode or not!

Which shows you just how much of a dumbfuck he is, as the War in Afghanistan is of an entirely different nature than that in Iraq. Bet those fuckwits send our tanks too.....which will sit in their laagers just like the Russians did because only a retard sends tanks into mountainous terrain. IIRC, most of our Infantry Divisions are Mechanized (aka Motorized) and are therefore the wrong type.

Actually it's hard even for the majority of our helicopters to operate in Afghanistan. From what I understand they are pretty much limited to the CH-47 which isn't exactly an agile gunship at the higher altitudes.

I'm beginning to think the only way to end this war is for the troops to just stop fighting.

We the people sure cannot elect "anti-war" candidates and expect them to make good on their promises (but that was learned in the Congressional election of 2006, when the Democrat rallied around an anti-war platform that was never delivered).

It's party politics. Of course they're going to lie to gain control. It's what's ruining this country. And the people are just too stupid to see through it. I think Obama is an honorable man - we can't necessarily blame all politicians. And we can't go attacking them for only doing what we the people pressure them into doing. Politically speaking, Bush wasn't bad - his only possible political move after 9/11 was to invade someone otherwise he would be thrown out of office for doing nothing. And nor will Obama be too bad politically speaking, aside from the fact that I don't exactly support socialism. It's the people who are too stupid to elect the people with the right ideas to these positions. And this is a perfect example. They vote via race and via whom they can be most sympathetic towards. And that proves this fact. It's party politics. And it's we the people who are responsible for that more or less.

Yup, this is what he's long said he was going to do. Here is what he said he plans to do next:

Obama: Expand the wars -- starting with Pakistan
"The first step must be getting off the wrong battlefield in Iraq, and taking the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan."

"So the second step in my strategy will be to build our capacity and our partnerships to track down, capture or kill terrorists around the world."

"... take down terrorist networks from the remote islands of Indonesia, to the sprawling cities of Africa."

I wouldn't count on it though. My little sister is in Iraq, and she called home yesterday to let us know that a sniper's bullet missed her by inches. In spite of this (or maybe because of it), she likes being there and wants to stay. The only way this can be true is if she's been brainwashed to think that she's fighting for something of value.

I love my sister, but she's oblivious.
