Propaganda? How conspiratorial.. she is entitled to her opinion just like everyone else. And what does it matter if she is the editor of the nation. She is a professional in the media establishment. They have no self interest. Their only prerogative is to report the news. She would never publish negative comments about Ron Paul the staunch capitalist and free marketer. No, they don't decide the facts, or present them in a slanted manner. They report 100% truth, 100% of the time. It's their job of course. I trust this people completely to give me the information I need to make an informed decision about the candidates polices and voting record. If Ron Paul was actually newsworthy, he would get covered. If his campaign had only done the media's job for them. I mean reallllly... who wants to hear about a Revolution? The likes of David vs Goliath? Ones of the most profound and remarkable events in the last 200 years, where the American people have truly woken up to it all... No-one wants to hear about that, good grief! Those types of stories are fit for HOLLYWOOD! Not the respectable and well established Media.

Imo, she probably has a better media manager / organizer. Maybe the Ron Paul campaign should be put in touch with her for the 2012 run, or for any other liberty campaign... yes, because if we had only gotten better media consultancy, if it wasn't so INCOMPETENT... EVERYTHING WOULD BE DIFFERENT!?!? We'd have Ron Paul as the Republican nominee and presidential elect!?! Next time we should hire her. Everything will be fixed! We will get fair coverage, fair time, no insults, no snide remarks, no censorship!!? YES! There will finally be no incompetency in the campaign!

yeah I heard her, and she was placed right after Ms. Shlaes, writer of "The Forgotten Man", book about the Great Depression, who's premise is that Government intervention created & prolonged the GD.

The Nation lady was named Katrina somethin' or other. Never heard of her, but I agree, she used really spooky language and notsoveiled veiled social/economic engineering brainwashing. ooooooooohh, creeped me out.

EDIT: After hearing a little of Shlaes talking, and seeing her book title, I wondered whether to trust her, and my first instinct was to log on to RPF and search for her name. As usual, there were previous threads about her and the book. Cool!

Katrina vanden Heuvel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katrina_vanden_Heuvel): "Self-described liberal" Probably not "liberal" in terms of "classical liberal."

Amity Shlaes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amity_shlaes): Writes from a "conservative/libertarian perspective," but...she's a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations! Maybe she's our mole.

The Nation lady was named Katrina somethin' or other.

Wish they all were. What a wonderful subliminal message it would send if all the talking heads spewing the 'let the government be the competent one' propaganda were all named either Katrina or Brown!

Geez, what a commie.

Shlaes sounded fine, but her being CFR raises my hackles. I think we can look for CFR libertarians who would be as happy to destroy our sovereignty as the pinkos and fascists. I'll have to look at those other threads.

Everyone's cussing and this makes you wish you had cable? Stay away from it--first you pay through the nose for it, then your blood pressure goes up (if CNN doesn't get you, paying for commercials will), then you pay for blood pressure medicine. It's a vicious circle and you should be thankful you've wisely stayed out of it.

What bothered me about Schlae was her glossing over of every comment regarding how illegal aliens have hurt our economy. Other than that I thought she was pretty good. Didn't watch the other woman, I'll have to go back and watch it now.

Nevermind the blatant, present, front-and-center racism of both the McCain and Obama associates, Ron Paul had his name on something that said that there is more crime committed by blacks, so he can't be taken seriously on any issues.

CSPANs propaganda free and on cable. Considering it's just politicians themselves. Admittedly you can get a golden moment or two from the review commities "So you've what met 3 of 18 goals in iraq, and this to you is working?"
