Has anyone asked Ron if he is considering a run in the TX gubernatorial race?

Yes, and he said that he probably wouldn't, but that if he did, he'd run on a secessionist platform. There was a thread about it a few weeks back.

Someone did a couple of months ago on C-Span's Washington Journal, and Paul said he wasn't going to run for Texas Governor because he is more interested in national issues like the war in Iraq and monetary policy than state and local issues.

Yeah, it was in the thread. The thread was about an interview on some radio show, but I can't find the thread.

I find it hard to believe an elected and sitting U.S. Congressman would say something like that seriously.

yea, sorry, he's scared i'll put the hurt on him.

so unless or until i withdraw from the race, i wouldn't expect that he'd to subject himself to such pwnage.

He was laughing while saying it. It was the "I'm not too serious, but I actually would if I could" kind of laugh.

he didn't..

it was a joke. he said its probably not a good idea because he would want to secede..

he said nothing of "running" on a secessionist platform.

That's what I thought. Basically he was just joking if he was a Governor, he'd want to get his state out of the sinking ship.

Well, the cat would be out of the bag on that one already anyway. I knew it was a joke, but I thought it sounded like something you joke about, but it was really "I really would if I could."
