MUMBAI TERROR CLAIMS 55

MUMBAI: A series of as many as 9 attacks are reported to have claimed 55 lives, with a further 200 injured, according to TV reports.

TV channels are carrying live coverage of what is reported to be at least 5 ongoing gunbattles between the terrorists and security forces. The attacks seem to be concentrated in South Mumbai.

The reports say that the police were exchanging fire with the terrorists holed up in the Taj and Oberoi luxury hotels. There are other ongoing encounters at the Chhatrapati Sivagi Terminus (Victoria Terminus), Cama Hospital and Metro Cinema.

Reports also say that at least 20 people including foreigners are held hostage on the roofs of the Taj and Oberoi hotels.

The police say that the terrorists have stolen cars, which are suspected to be laden with explosives and the perpetrators are driving around the city, taking random potshots at citizens.

Police is said to have intercepted one car and in an exchange of fire, two of the terrorists were blown up along with the car.

Five policemen are said to have been killed and many police personnel have been injured.

Additional Commissioner of Police Kamte is said to have been killed. Hemant Karkare, head of the Anti Terrorist Squad, has also been killed.

The terrorists are said to have their hideout in Nariman Towers and security personnel are in the process of taking action.

It is also said that the terrorists have entered the premises of the JJ School of Arts.

Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has cut short a visit to Kerala and is on his way back.

The state government has asked for help from the armed forces and the Army is to take out a flag march in the city.

The centre is said to be sending a force of 200 NSG commandos.

Unconfirmed reports claim the terrorists to be 'Fidayeen'.

Earlier, IANS reports:

The top floor of the world-famous Hotel Taj Intercontinental in Mumbai caught fire after a bomb explosion as terroists struck at seven locations in the metropolis late Wednesday night.

The 22-storey, five-star hotel by the Arabian Sea was one of the targets of the terrorist attack. An explosion on the top floor soon engulfed the top floor of the hotel in fire.

Fire tenders were rushed to the spot, officials said.

Earlier in the night, terrorists opened fire at police and paramilitary forces outside the Taj Hotel between 10.15 p.m. and 10.30 p.m., police officials said.

The officials, who refused to speak on record, said the terrorists fired indiscrimantely near the five-star hotel where around 2,000 guests and staff were stranded.

The body of a foreign woman guest was recovered from the Taj Hotel and two terrorists were holed up inside the building, a police official said.

At least 90 percent portion of the building was plunged into darkness as authorities cut off power in a precautionary measure.

Suspected terrorists hijacked a police jeep near Metro Cinema here and fired at two policemen who were in the vehicle, an eyewitness said.

Metro Cinema was one of the targets of seven "coordinated terrorist attacks" in Mumbai Wednesday night, in which at least 17 people were killed and over 50 were reported injured.

The police said gunbattle between the terrorists and the police were on in at least three places, including the Taj and Trident hotels.

Two terrorists attacked the police vehicle near the Metro Cinema and dragged two policemen from it after firing at them, the eyewitness told IANS.

The policemen were seriously injured and rushed to a hospital, according to the witness.

Metro Cinema in south Mumbai is barely one-and-half km from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (previously known as Victoria Terminus), which also came under the terrorist attack.

A Briton who escaped the terrorist attack at the five-star Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai Wednesday night said the attackers specifically asked for American and British tourists.

Alex Chamberlain, who is working in Mumbai, said the terrorists allowed him to leave along with other diners at the besieged Kandahar restaurant in the Oberoi, now known as the Hotel Trident, after he kept his nationality a secret.

He told Sky TV that the terrorists shot a waitress in the arm before allowing diners to take the stairs down to the lobby.

Chamberlain said the smoke - from either a hand-grenade or a smoke bomb - was so thick that those making their way down from “the 18th floor or wherever we were” feared they would choke to death.

He said once he was on the ground floor he had to break a glass window in order to let some air in before making his way out.

“We're preparing for a very long night,” he added.

Reports of terrorists going to the Hotel employees asking which guests are Westerners, then they are being taken hostage.
They believe that this is the first known Hindu Terror cell.
Reported that one of the chief investigators of this Hindu terror cell has been shot dead, as well as an Indian National hero. Terroists are targeting 5 star hotels, Mumbai is where many politicians, actors, actresses and high profile wealthy people gather.

I can't imagine why they would be targeting US and UK citizens.

Sounds like more blowback, especially since the cross-border attacks into Pakistan have been stepped up and more than just "militants" have been killed lately. Yep, blow up a school full of women and children and you can probably expect to piss some people off.

But no, this will be blamed on Muslim Pakistanis that hate Americans for our freedom. :(

You know what's great about India? Most people just forget about these attacks and move on in life after couple of days later. Terrorists can never win.

The group who attacked, the Mujahideen Islamic group (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mujahideen#Republic_of_India), is relatively new in India. They started appearing in India just this year. They are trying to get attention by launching large attacks on the public. As long as the public shrugs off these aholes, the terrorists can never win.

The Indian Mujahideen, which has claimed responsibility for the Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Jaipur blasts killing at least 130 people in a span of four months, has now threatened to carry out attacks in Mumbai, report Agencies.

Accusing Mumbai Police’s ATS of harassing Muslims, Indian Mujahideen said in its email that it was closely watching the ATS.

“You should know that your acts are not at all left unnoticed; rather we are closely keeping an eye on you and just waiting for the right time to execute your bloodshed. We are aware of your recent raids at Ansarnagar, Mograpada in Andheri and the harassment and trouble you created there for the Muslims,” the group said in the email they sent to various media houses on Saturday evening.

“You threatened to murder them and your mischief went to such an extent that you even dared to abuse and insult Maulana Mahmood-ul-Hasan Qasmi and even misbehaved with the Muslim women and children there,” the email said.

I am not saying it is justified, just that the bastards came out 2 months ago and said they were going to do this, who they were going to target and why they are going to target them But today the mainstream media keeps pumping it up all day like they have no idea who did it, why and the fact that they keeping pounding is that they are targeting "Westerners" to scare the crap out of people.

They are not targeting westerners, they are targeting the Indian police and security forces. I don't see how it is news worthy. The same people have already killed 130 people this year, but that went totally unreported.

But they are not "targeting" Westerners. They are targeting the Indian security forces.

They are taking Westerners hostage, not killing them. There is a big difference. If you are striking out against the West, you kill Westerners, a la 9/11 and the Mid-East Hotel Bombings last year.

On the other hand if you are trying to do damage to the Indian Security forces, you kill their officers (They have killed the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, and have also killed the head of India's Anti-Terrorism Squad) and police officers. Then take Westerners hostage to use a negotiation.

The Westerners are not the target but part of the means of whatever they are trying to pull off. There is a big difference, this is not a ideological difference between radical Muslims and the West, but an internal fight between crime elements in India and the India Security forces with some Westerns caught in the crossfire.

UPA govt projecting India as a terrorist country: BJP

25 Nov 2008, 0432 hrs IST, TNN

JAIPUR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday accused Congress-led UPA government at the Centre of projecting India as a ‘terrorist country’.

Party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi alleged that Congress was deliberately drawing religion into terrorism.

Addressing a press conference on Monday at the state BJP headquarters, Naqvi said, “It’s an old habit of Congress. It began with Sikh terrorists, then it was Muslim terrorists and now, it’s Hindu terrorists. The Congress is deliberately drawing religion into such a sensitive issue.’’ Taking a dig at Congress president Sonia Gandhi, albeit without naming her, he added, “All Indians are terrorists and their belief in foreign leader is patriotism.’’

He further alleged that this was all part of Congress’ divide and rule policy, which it has been following for years. “It was following its false propaganda on Sikh terrorism that Congress lost its power then and now, it will lose it again because of its recent actions,’’ he said, adding that a narco analysis test on ‘Congress’ mind’ should be conducted to understand its ideology. He also alleged that Congress’s weak stand on Pak supported terrorism has led to LeT and ISI becoming more active in the country.

Naqvi, who attended a meeting of the election management committee on Monday, claimed that according to their assessment, BJP will easily win in four of the six states which are going into elections, including Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh while it would record an increase in number of seats in Jammu and Kashmir and Mizoram.

Meanwhile, the BJP has started finalizing the tour plan for its senior leaders. Party president Rajnath Singh will be addressing public meetings at Nokha, Laxmangarh and Ajmer on Wednesday. Chief minister Raje will address public meetings at Banswara and Dungarpur on Tuesday while Hema Malini would be visiting Jhalore, Pali and Jodhpur the same day.

India shocked by discovery of first Hindu terror cell
At least 10 people, including monk and army officer, held over bombings initially blamed on Islamists

By Andrew Buncombe in Delhi
Sunday, 23 November 2008

India is in something of a state of shock after learning from official sources that its first Hindu terror cell may have carried out a series of deadly bombings that were initially blamed on militant Muslims. The revelation is forcing the country to consider some difficult questions.

At least 10 people have been arrested in connection with several bomb blasts in the Muslim-dominated town of Malegaon in the western state of Maharashtra in September, which left six people dead. But reports suggest that police believe the cell may also have carried out a number of previous attacks, including last year's notorious bombing of a cross-border train en route to Pakistan, which killed 68 people. Among the alleged members of the cell are a serving army officer and a Hindu monk.

Bomb attacks are not uncommon in India – there has been a flurry in recent months – but police usually blame them on Muslim extremists, often said to have links to militant groups based in either Pakistan or Bangladesh. As a result, the recent cracking of the alleged Hindu cell has forced India to face some difficult issues. A country that prides itself on purported religious and cultural toleration – an ambition that in reality often falls short – has been made to ask itself how this cell could operate for so long. India's military, which prides itself on its professionalism, has been forced to order an embarrassing inquiry.

The near-daily drip of revelations from police has also caused red faces for India's main political opposition, the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), ahead of state polls and a general election scheduled for early next year. The BJP and its prime ministerial candidate, Lal Krishna Advani, have long accused the Congress Party-led government of being soft on terrorism that involved Muslims. However, the BJP has refused to call for a clampdown on Hindu groups, and last week Mr Advani even criticised the police over the way they questioned one of the alleged cell members, a woman called Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.

The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, phoned his rival to ask him not to politicise the issue or the investigation. "There is a strong case so let the police do their job," he told Mr Advani. While some commentators have expressed surprise about the discovery of the alleged cell, others have pointed out that there has been growing concern about the possible threat from Hindu extremists. In the summer, two members of a right-wing Hindu group were killed while putting together a bomb, and two other suspected members of the same group died in similar circumstances in 2006.

Meanwhile, senior right-wing leaders have made no secret of their wish that Hindus should form suicide squads to protect themselves against Muslim extremists. Bal Thackeray, leader of a group called the Shiv Sena, which has been responsible for communal and regional violence in Mumbai, wrote recently in the party's magazine: "The threat of Islamic terror in India is rising. It is time to counter the same with Hindu terror. Hindu suicide squads should be readied to ensure the existence of Hindu society and to protect the nation."

Observers say the fact that the police have arrested the alleged cell members amid considerable political pressure suggests the growing professionalism of its security forces. "It's the first Hindu cell and it's the first time Hindus have been shackled and taken to jail," said Professor Dipankar Gupta, a sociologist at Delhi's Jawarlahal Nehru University. "I'm quite pleased with the way the police have done their jobs."

You gotta look wayy wayyy beyond the United States. The United States is a puppet government.

India's economy is "booming". Can't have that.

Besides all of the political advantages (Obama is given a reason to invade Pakistan, yippee) there is the economical advantages. (The Multi-Pronged attack). Condider that Monsanto has completely infiltrated India's farm lands as well. What hardships can come from terrorist attacks? Most certainly more demand of the land, correct? The GMO crops will be "the savior". What is ironic is that Indian farmers by the thousands are poisoning themselves because of the complete FAILURE of the GMO seeds, and the debt that they accumluated buying the seeds.

History. Northwoods, The Reichstag, Gulf Of Tonkin, Bay of Pigs, USS Liberty, the Philippino Monkey, Dick Cheney and his wanting to dress up our Seals as Iranians and bomb ourselves, Pearl Harbor, Kennedy- (RFK, JFK, JFK Jr) MLK, Lincoln, shall I go on?

When an event of this magnitude occurs it is logical that incorrect information comes out initially. If it was an inside job on the other hand it would make sense that the story would stay the same since the whole thing is planned and coordinated and known ahead of time.

Specifically address the initial reports of "bombs in the buildings". I would like to hear your explanation for that. Oh, you must include Barry Jennings, first missing, now declared dead of "unknown causes.

India shocked by discovery of first Hindu terror cell
At least 10 people, including monk and army officer, held over bombings initially blamed on Islamists

I hope that I have made myself clear that I did not "make up" the Hindu Terrorists, it was reported.
This is not to say that I think it was Hindu Terrorists, I think it was an inside job, as most all (if not all) terrorism is state sponsored.

I think the "retarded muslim" comments are ignorant and misguided.

There are several sects of Islam. Wahabism is considered an extreme sect of Islam which is generally shunned by the majority of Muslims. This is the sect of Osama Bin Laden, and is usually associated for pushing extreme political idealogies.

In my opinion, Wahabism does not = Islam

However, they call themselves muslims.. but distort and pervert Islam to their own political agendas.

EDIT: I'm not trying to imply that these attacks were religiously motivated. I'm just criticizing the sterotypical association with Islam and terrorism.

Being an Athiest myself, I'm not trying to "offend" anyone, but the REALITY is that these are terrorists who follow Islam - whether the bastardized version of it or not is a different question!

Is it that hard to accept? Granted the liberal commies would call these terrorists as "militants" to either stay politically corrected or appease to one particular religious group, but come on now, you're not a liberal commie! :D

Since I'm not a Muslim I could care less what is "true Islam" and what is "fake Islam". What I do know is what many Muslims carry out in the name of Islam, and that many more Muslims condone or excuse their actions.

I doubt the victims in Mumbai are concerned if their attackers are followers of "true Islam".

The Muezzinoglus, however, found themselves in a terrible situation: They found themselves in a hostage situation, along with a group of foreigners. That night, they shared a room with three foreignersall women. Two machine-gun-wielding terrorists stood guard over them the whole night.

All the hostages were asked to identify their religion. When the Muezzinoglus said they were Muslims, their captors told them that they would not be harmed. The other three Caucasian women were removed from the room next day, and the terrorists told the Muezzinoglus that they had been shot.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/08599186273300

Even as the siege of Mumbai was still going on, the finger-pointing began. India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said "external forces" were behind the attacks, a thinly veiled reference to India's neighbor and longtime foe Pakistan. Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee went further, telling reporters that "elements with links to Pakistan" were involved. But Pakistan's President and Prime Minister both condemned the attacks and rejected any talk of Pakistani involvement. Pakistani officials also announced that the head of the powerful Inter-Services Intelligence organization (ISI) - often accused of orchestrating terrorist assaults on India - would travel to India to offer assistance in investigating the Mumbai massacre.

There has been one claim of responsibility: a group calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen, which e-mailed news organizations on Thursday claiming it had carried out the attacks. The group, previously unknown, may be connected with (or even an alias of) the Indian Mujahedin, which claimed responsibility for several terrorist strikes earlier this year.

Im going to focus in on the group that predicted what would happen months ago instead of relying on the spin doctors owned by the elites to shape opinion after the fact. Sure "anybody" could have emailed them months ago but if it was false intel then that makes no sense since it would have pointed to a bad guy that furthered the anti-Pakistan agenda, not made India look like it couldnt protect its people from internal attackers.

I dont appreciate the personal attacks. Either discuss the issue like an adult or go somewhere else "dumbass".

Oh yeah, you forgot that Pakistan has been making peaceful overtures to India lately so this attack would make little sense from a national perspective. Guess who looks like the dumbass now? Stop jumping to conclusions based on your previously conceived notions. You reek of neocon shill.

Zardari gambles with bold overtures to India
By Farhan Bokhari in Islamabad and James Lamont in New Delhi

Published: November 23 2008 18:33 | Last updated: November 23 2008 18:33

Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan’s president, has taken a big political gamble. At the weekend, he offered some of the strongest words of conciliation towards India of any Pakistani leader.

He dismissed the first use of nuclear weapons in a conflict and proposed the opening of the country’s markets to free trade with its much larger neighbour.

Pakistan shaped by military rule and instability - The bold overtures from Islamabad to New Delhi are coming thick and fast. Only last month, Mr Zardari, fresh from meetings with Manmohan Singh, India’s prime minister, and US president George W. Bush, branded insurgents in Muslim majority Kashmir “terrorists”. The insurgents have been traditionally regarded as freedom fighters in Pakistan.

Mr Zardari’s ground-breaking comments were greeted with suspicion by Pakistan’s military establishment and intelligence agencies on Sunday. Some criticised the president for stripping the country of its nuclear deterrent. But the visionary peacemaker in Mr Zardari was met with astonishment on the streets of Islamabad.

While this is a common response, Mr Zardari’s talk of nuclear non-proliferation and a European Union-style economic zone will create goodwill for Pakistan’s new democratic government with the US administration of president-elect Barack Obama and the International Monetary Fund, called upon to help the country out of its balance of payments crisis.

The remarks will have been carefully thought out with an eye to seeking US approval when relations between Islamabad and Washington are strained over the use of US drones to attack militants on Pakistan’s soil.

“The Americans are eager for Pakistan to focus on attacking al-Qaeda and Islamist militants so that the border region is cleaned up. More conciliation by Pakistan towards the Indians helps Pakistan to focus more on what the US wants – fighting militants,” said one western diplomat.

Not everyone is so convinced. Tareq Fatemi, a former Pakistani diplomat, said: “This appeared to be a knee-jerk reaction which was hardly well thought through. If indeed much thinking had gone in to this statement, President Zardari would have asked the Indians for something in return, which he clearly didn’t.”

Pakistani officials leapt to the president’s defence, saying his overture was carefully considered. “We all believe there will be no nuclear conflict. What is the harm in making this offer?” said one.

Analysts say Mr Zardari is running a big risk with his domestic constituency. Lieutenant General (retired) Abdul Qayyum, a former military commander, said Mr Zardari’s diminishing domestic credit was running even thinner as he sought to appease his foreign constituency. “Does he realise, even if there are some gains from the US or others, how much he is damaged within the country by taking what was not a well-considered position?”

“It’s still early to see the full picture. Maybe if Pakistan unexpectedly receives some form of a [reciprocal] gesture with this statement, there are unforeseen benefits down the road. Frankly, they [benefits] are nowhere to be seen right now.”

India, for its part, is taking a more low-key approach, preferring talks and small confidence building measures, such as small-scale trade across the Line of Control and a recent visit by the Pakistani national security adviser to Delhi. But a sign of the Indian government’s tacit support for the revived Pakistani democracy is the absence of the usual castigation of Pakistan for terror attacks in India or ceasefire violations in Kashmir.

“We have taken several measures to improve confidence between the two countries, although there are cases of ceasefire violations in some areas,” AK Antony, the defence minister, said on Sunday.

Mr Zardari is not alone in hoping that after six decades of hostility these measures gather pace. But India in the short term is thinking in steps rather than strides.

And then almost immediately India is attacked by Pakistanis? It makes no sense.

Mumbai: Armed Police Would Not Fire Back
Published on 29-11-2008

Source: Independent

It is the photograph that has dominated the world's front pages, casting an astonishing light on the fresh-faced killers who brought terror to the heart of India's most vibrant city. Now The Independent can reveal how the astonishing picture came to be taken by a newspaper photographer who hid inside a train carriage as gunfire erupted all around him.

Sebastian D'Souza, a picture editor at the Mumbai Mirror, whose offices are just opposite the city's Chhatrapati Shivaji station, heard the gunfire erupt and ran towards the terminus. "I ran into the first carriage of one of the trains on the platform to try and get a shot but couldn't get a good angle, so I moved to the second carriage and waited for the gunmen to walk by," he said. "They were shooting from waist height and fired at anything that moved. I briefly had time to take a couple of frames using a telephoto lens. I think they saw me taking photographs but theydidn't seem to care."

The gunmen were terrifyingly professional, making sure at least one of them was able to fire their rifle while the other reloaded. By the time he managed to capture the killer on camera, Mr D'Souza had already seen two gunmen calmly stroll across the station concourse shooting both civilians and policemen, many of whom, he said, were armed but did not fire back. "I first saw the gunmen outside the station," Mr D'Souza said. "With their rucksacks and Western clothes they looked like backpackers, not terrorists, but they were very heavily armed and clearly knew how to use their rifles.

"Towards the station entrance, there are a number of bookshops and one of the bookstore owners was trying to close his shop," he recalled. "The gunmen opened fire and the shopkeeper fell down."

But what angered Mr D'Souza almost as much were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back. "There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything," he said. "At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back."

As the gunmen fired at policemen taking cover across the street, Mr D'Souza realised a train was pulling into the station unaware of the horror within. "I couldn't believe it. We rushed to the platform and told everyone to head towards the back of the station. Those who were older and couldn't run, we told them to stay put."

The militants returned inside the station and headed towards a rear exit towards Chowpatty Beach. Mr D'Souza added: "I told some policemen the gunmen had moved towards the rear of the station but they refused to follow them. What is the point if having policemen with guns if they refuse to use them? I only wish I had a gun rather than a camera."

Mr. Pro what do you have to say about Sadhvi Pragya and Col. Purohit's inside job case where they desperately tried to frame the bombings on Muslims?
And why do you think all the top three ATS officers were killed? They were investigating possible RSS/VHP/Mossad links in the terror campaigns being blamed on /Muslims. 1. btw don't you find it amazing that the only terrorist caught clearly on the tapes and in more than 1 occasions is the one that was to be captured alive later on?

Sounds really suspicious from that angle right? This poor swine who was shot badly just like his friend (who later died of injuries) "pretended" to be dead. How sad. I wish he had died. He mercifully begged for saline. I wish he was not given any saline and let go and die and enjoy his 72 virgins. Look, you want to fake attacks? You then don't go for all these dramas and soaps to make the average Ram/Shyam/Singh believe in your propaganda. Later reports have said that he wants to die after being asked what (a+b)^3 means. I wish he is shot to death. I will be happy that way.

6. Precise killing of the all three investigating officers in the Pragya case?

Only one was involved if I'm not wrong. Correct me please because I sincerely haven't been keeping touch with this case.

Look the bottom line is, the Indian govt. and the intel agencies are fucking incompetent to do fake these attacks. India is a fucking corrupt country and that even a $100 bill can make an intel officer switch sides.

Want evidences? Wait for a day or two. Do you expect them to come out blaming Pakistan/ISI or whatever without doing in-depth investigation?

Q: Who is ISI?

A: The anti-democratic Paki shadow govt. created by US/Israel.
Are you sure you're hitting roots of the evil?

Since I can see how you love to spew your own propaganda, where as I'm just showing the true facts (even though I also have my questions with regards to the 911 attacks), let me help you out one by one accordingly:

Disclaimer: I'm NOT a RSS/BJP/Congess/RAW sympathizer. I believe all these organizations need to be dismantled just like what Dr. Paul says. And that goes for ISI and its meow meows.

Believe me, Indian govt. or RAW is too incompetent and corrupt to pull stuff like this. ISI has achieved more successes.

So? If Congress can do a good job this time and act aggressively, they can easily win the election - no matter how much bullshit BJP throws.

I wish Purohit was shot point blank. Army professionals don't pull stuff like that. He's a disgrace to Indian Army. Sadly enough, this bitch is whining in the court how he has been tortured by ATS and CBI. Ironic, huh? Oh wait, he's pulling a reverse psychology and it's all fake and planned.

India rushes Menon to brief Obama on terror attacks (http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/nov/30mumterror-menon-to-brief-obama.htm)

Sheela Bhatt in New Delhi | November 30, 2008 23:28 IST

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] has asked Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon to rush to Washington, DC, to brief the advisors of US President-elect Barack Obama [Images] about the terror attacks in Mumbai.
Menon is expected to leave for the US on Monday. His office could not be contacted.

The terror attacks on Mumbai have thrown up crucial evidence which needs to be brought to the urgent notice of Americans in view of India's past experience with Pakistan.

According to a source in government, "We have three pieces of evidence right now of the involvement of people based in Pakistan. One is the satellite phone through which calls were made to Pakistan from Mumbai. Two, the interrogation statement of the captured terrorist has lots of details which will help demolish Pakistan's claims that there are no terrorist camps inside Pakistan. Three, the dead bodies of nine terrorists and the proof of identity found on them."

The Indian side believes that as has happened in the past, Pakistan is likely to say on seeing the details of telephone numbers and their possible owners' names that no such numbers exist and there are no such telephone owners.

The Americans have a highly sophisticated "call-chaining" technology that will help trace the entire sequence and chain of telephone calls made through satellite. India also possesses the telecommunications technology, but the US-based system is more advanced.

The Lashkar e Tayiba's senior operative, Yousuf Muzamil, who masterminded the Taj Mahal hotel [Images] operation, had coordinated the logistics with the help of Yahya Mujahideen [Images] who is based in Bangladesh.

The US is expected to help India get more names through "call chaining" technology.

India, however, needs to fine-tune the evidence gathered so far in Mumbai.

"America could be a positive help," said the source.

More important, it is felt, is to apprise the US about the anger and anguish within India which can't be ignored by any government.

Hello, Mr. Noob.

1. This is totally irrelevant to what's happening in India
2. LTTE's CEO is an Athiest
3. LTTEs are known as "Tamil Terrorists"
4. LTTE is filled with Buddhists and Christians.
5. LTTE doesn't bring "Hinduism" while carrying out their missions & propaganda. They don't fight in the name of "Hinduism"; unlike Musilm Terrorists who does in the name of Islam. They are fighting to get their land back - not prove the Sri Lankan govt. that they have been mistreated in the name of religion.
6. LTTEs are NOT Indians / Indian Hindus or Muslims or Christians or Buddhists.

Happy?

Good luck finding more copy-paste items.

Next time, read a history book of the Indian sub-continent before coming up with anything next to the word "credible."

1. How is this not relevant to what is happening in India? The majority of the population of India are Hindus, and yes, there are most certainly Hindu terrorists (although you might argue #2 below) The majority of police in India are Hindu. It is known that Indian intelligence had been warned about possible attacks, yet did nothing, it is known that Indian Police refused to fire on the terroists. Don't you find it bizarre that the only “terrorist” that was apprehended happens to be a British born Pakistani? Whatever that means.

2. Just because you say the CEO (terrorist groups have CEOs?) calls himself an atheist doesn't mean the “underlings” are also atheist. This same argument can be made by any religious group- do you think that Christian terrorist groups are led by true Christians? What about Muslims? Do you not understand or at least consider the possibility that these groups have been hijacked by those who are not true to any religion, but worship murder and violence? Consider the ISI, who are most assuredly mainly Hindu who are funded and trained by MI6 and CIA.

3.No, they are commonly referred to as the Tamil Tigers. This is a non-issue.

4. The LTTE is anti- Buddhist, so please back up your statement that this group of terrorists include Buddhists.

5. This is also a non-issue. “In the name of” means nothing. This is similar to saying that the Fouding fathers didn't fight for freedom “in the name of Christ”, so therefore, they were not Considered Christian Terrorists by the English...

6. point 4 and 6 totally contradict one another. I cannot address this straw man.

You sure are rude. Has anyone ever told you that you might think too highly of yourself, and you could use a dose of humility? Nawwww, I am sure you have never heard that before. ;)

Insurance companies Tata-AIG and Oriental Insurance will take a major hit on account of damage to the properties suffered at iconic Taj and Oberoi-Trident during the terrorist violence that ended earlier in the day.

Ratan Tata is the chairman of the Taj Group of hotels, and also the Tata Group -- the largest private corporate group in India. It has interests in steel, cars, communications, computer technology, power -- and, of course, hotels. Their revenues last year were $62.5 billion.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/11/30/gps.transcript.tata/

So let me get this straight, the CEO of the Taj hotel is also the CEO of the insurance provider of the Taj and Oberoi hotels?

Well, for one, you might want to take a good look at your staff, where they came from, when they got there. It is bizarre that it is being reported that the terrorists hijacked a fishing boat, yet there is a chef w/in the Taj that had been working there for weeks before the event.

As far as warnings in this country goes, please consider all the warnings before 9/11 which were completely ignored- this includes warnings from as far away as egypt and and close as people yelling their heads off in the street just hours before the attacks, as well as the police who heard the countdown over the radio, schoolchildren who were telling their parents about the upcoming attacks, and those who defaulted on their leases days before the attacks (specifically Israelis). Please don't forget those who were told not to travel to NYC that day, and the "failure in communication" to the Pentagon employees about the attacks on the WTC. Isn't it bizarre that the Pentagon was not told about the attacks on the WTC? There is a difference between not being able to cover all of the bases, and completely ignoring what is hitting you in the face.

Please consider the post above- don't you find it bizarre that the CEO of the insurance company for the Taj and Oberoi hotels is also the CEO for the hotels?

Do I have my own doubts on 911? Of course I do. But with India, it's different. We are no CIA/USA. Yeah, the Indian govt. is involved -

Just like rpfan mentioned above:
Shock as top Indian Army officer arrested over bomb attack

The Indian Army has been shocked by the arrest of a senior Military Intelligence officer on suspicion of involvement in a bomb attack by Hindu extremists in western India in September.

Colonel Srikant Prasad Purohit is the first serving officer in India's Army — seen as a bastion of secularism since the country's independence in 1947 — to be arrested on terrorism charges.

His detention is prompting calls for a ban on Hindu nationalist groups accused of stirring political violence, including recent attacks on Christians in eastern India, before national elections next year.

It may also force Indian authorities to investigate whether Hindu radicals were behind other recent bomb attacks, many of which have been blamed on Islamic extremists backed by Pakistan's intelligence service.

Pakistan FM urges India not to get 'sucked' into blame game

NEW DELHI, Nov 28 (AFP) Nov 28, 2008
Pakistan's foreign minister appealed Friday to India not to get "sucked" into a blame game over the Mumbai attacks and put the nuclear-armed neighbours on the path to confrontation.

Speaking in New Delhi, where he was on an official visit, Shah Mehmood Qureshi condemned the multiple Islamist assaults on India's financial capital, calling the militants "barbaric animals."

But he said India had spoken too swiftly earlier on Friday in blaming "elements in Pakistan" for the attacks and should avoid a "knee-jerk" response over the attacks that killed at least 130 people.

"My honest view is the government should have reflected more in coming to its conclusions," Qureshi told a gathering of female journalists.

"Let us build a new relationship or we could get sucked back into a situation that we have been living in for 60 years and that will be a tragedy as large as this one," he said.

India-Pakistan relations during that period have been marked by three wars, frequent border clashes and an intense arms race. The countries came to the brink of another war in 2002 after a raid on parliament in New Delhi, an assault India blamed on Pakistan-based militants.

"We should avoid a replay of that beaten track of the blame game," said Qureshi.

Since 2004, the countries have been engaged in a slow-moving peace process to resolve their differences.

India has frequently accused Pakistan of sheltering guerrilla groups which have attacked Indian targets -- allegations Islamabad strongly denies.

Qureshi said he understood "there are domestic compulsions -- there are (state) elections" underway and a federal election looming in India.

"But this is above and beyond politics," he said, urging India's leaders to "play the role of statesmen."

India's Congress-led government faces general elections by May 2009 which will now likely centre around national security issues amid a barrage of criticism over alleged intelligence lapses.

Islamabad pledged Friday to send its Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) chief to help India probe the attacks, which observers saw as an important gesture by Pakistan's civilian government, elected in February.

Qureshi said he did not cut short his visit to India when the assault began Wednesday because he wanted to "express my solidarity with India."

He said he had a close acquaintance with terrorism as Pakistani troops were battling Islamist militants daily and he had missed being blown up by 15 seconds in a suicide bomb attack in September on Islamabad's Marriott Hotel in which at least 60 people died.

He appealed to India to "trust us."

"There's a consensus in the country that peace with India is in Pakistan's long-term interest," he added.

India's Premier Manmohan Singh blamed the assault Thursday on a group "based outside the country" in a clear reference to Pakistan and warned there would be "a cost if suitable measures are not taken" to halt attacks.

Indian media reports have said security agencies believe the attacks were staged by Lashkar-e-Taiba, which operates out of Pakistan. The group has denied any involvement and condemned the attacks.

"You can trust us to act against those terrorists who are acting against India," Qureshi said.

"The government does not distinguish between terrorists -- they are the same breed and will be dealt with alike," he said.

These military leaders want to create havoc in Pak, which is destined to break into small states in the near future with Obama's 2009 War on Pak and I BELIEVE these military leaders are future Karzais and Mugabes of Pakistan.

Don't confuse Pakistani govt. with ISI, they both are totally different. ISI is a CIA/Mossad subsidiary and their only task is to create lots and lots of fanatic Jehadists, brainwashed and ready to be deployed against anybody.

Right after the attacks I saw it on TV, Israelis fleeing India said 'this event has brought India and Israel a lot closer'.

You keep on spewing propaganda, now would ya... You just might become part of "the conspiracy" if you do that.No one denies the existence of Mossad. To allow your antisemitism to brim over and blame them for everything that goes wrong in the world makes you seem a little unhinged though.

Are they really more cautious? You apparently "caught" them this time.

Me? Not really.

"I saw 6 to 7 boats coming in on Wednesday evening and about ten people unloaded many bags from these boats and then gradually took them into the building, Nariman House', Vitthal Tandel, a fisherman in the area said. "The building has many rooms and these are used a s guest houses by travelers, largely Israeli residents. None of us know what their names are", he said.

Virendra Ghunawat, a television journalist who has been tracking the Nariman House shootout since the time it took place Wednesday night, said even the cops have been cagey about details.

"Today, during one of the shootout exchanges, the cops managed to rescue a six year old girl and her mother. We know of a man who is critically injured and requires urgent medical help. A couple is also holed up inside apart from the militants", a senior police official said, who did not wish to be quoted.

The role that Nariman House is coming to play in this entire attack drama, is puzzling. Last night, residents ordered close to 100 kilograms of meat and other food, enough to feed an army or a bunch of people for twenty days. Shortly thereafter, the ten odd militants moved in, obviously, indicating that the food and meat was ordered, keeping their visit in mind, another cop added.

" One of the militants called up a television news channel and voiced his demands today, but, interestingly, when he was asked where are they all holed him, he said at the Israeli owned Nariman House and they are six of them here", one of the investigating cops said. Since morning, there has been exchange of gun fire has been going on and the militants seem well equipped to counter the cops fire. To top it, they have food and shelter. One wonders of they have the support of the residents, a local Ramrao Shanker said.

Ah, the antisemitism trump card. Played like a true hustler, not bad. But you could use a bit of work on your timing. I suggest you take some pointers from the rest of the neocons who claims that anyone who questions America's foreign policy is "anti-American". They seem to have the game mastered.

Well why else would you blame "the jooooooooooooooos!" for a terrorist attack in India (which was on some jewish citizens) when there is no evidence lnking it to Israel?

He isn't questioning American foreign policy in this instance. He in fact does not mention American foreign policy. He only criticizes an attempt to blame Mossad/CIA for the India attack.

Mr. A$$hole

Why would you attributr an attack on Twin towers (in united states) to UBL (officially residing in some cave in Afghanistan),where at least few muslims too may have died, and where there is no evidence to prove it, if are you believe FBI's version. Then why are you chasing this left-handed guy (http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/terrorists/terbinladen.htm) who eats and writes with his right hand (what he uses his left hand for?...hmm) and what US is doing in IRAQ (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/140133_bushiraq18.html).

And these 'angry' people are you. /Have fun at yourself

Your making a big deal about bin laden. He is one person. It would be nice psychologically to catch him but it probably wouldn't help in the long run.

If you have listened to Ron Paul he believes our foreign policy caused the 19 hijackers to come into existence. Billions spent on military could not have stopped them.

The FBI's bureaucracy failed to get the information found by agents on the ground to the decision makers.

Besides, 19 determined people will find a way.

Of course, it is easier on the mind to just say "the jews did it". Don't have to use any thought to do that.

Seems pretty unlikely that the CIA would be incompetent enough to let some kid in his pajamas on the internet (you) figure out that Bin Laden is working for them

...and at the same time mastermind a plot in Mumbai and successfully slip the blame onto Pakistan.

so you forgot the Muzaheedin era, how they created them right under the russkie's nose and UBL was the one who did all this for the CIA, there were many others but I don't want to overload you.

Hey wait!! You seem to know nothing...are you a bot?? the paid human bots ie..those who work for minimum wage or less?? are you?
Can I hire you?

I think Ron Paul did 9/11. Ron Paul is really Osama Bin Laden and he's a CIA Special Agent who is garnering our support for his terrorist organization. Yes, Campaign for Liberty is the spawn of the CIA and we were all tricked into becoming CIA minions.

Ron Paul's entire Presidential campaign was CIA backed. Most of the posters on this forum are CIA black operatives.
