So I got to meet Glenn Beck at a book signing here in Tallahassee. As I was walking up I shook his hand and said thanks for having Ron and Peter Schiff on. He realized what I said as I was walking away and called me back and said its really really good you know about those two guys. He gave me and my roommate a autographed pocket constitution. Thought that was purty cool.

Is he really a Mormon? I wouldn't have guessed that at all.

I go back and forth between liking Glenn and not liking him.

Sometimes I'm glad he's on the air, other times he elicits many consecutive *facepalms*.

He probably keeps a copy of the Patriot Act to sign for McCain supporters in his other pocket :p

He used to be an alcoholic, so either must have converted or he wasn't practicing his faith very well.

There's no such thing as "used to be an alcoholic."

The point still stands. He either was converted after he stopped drinking, or he wasn't a very good Mormon while drinking.

That depends on if you think alcoholism is a disease or a condition.

Glenn Beck being interviewed saying he's part of the LDS---he's a mormon.

He has talked about his faith many times on his radio show. He supported Romney, but "not because he's a Mormon" he would often say.

Whenever I would hear that from a Mormon, I show them the results from Utah's Primary.

No doubt.
95% of African Americans didn't vote for Obama because he was African-American, either.

I actually would believe that because that is only slightly higher (5%) than the average African-American vote for a Democrat.

So what you're essentially saying is that of those blacks who normally vote Republican, half of them chose to vote for Obama...

That makes it all better. By the way, I believe 88% voted for Kerry...so a 7% increase means almost 70% of blacks who usually vote Republican decided to vote Democrat. Coincidence?

You have to incorporate the increase in turnout among minority communities as well, which would put my figure of 5% above the probable switch rate.

I hear you on the facepalms, but I still think he's a strong positive overall, no question in my mind.

Ummm ... nooo? I wouldn't even say that about a scientologist, and that's an honest to goodness cult.

Beck has a ton of influence over massive amounts of people. He gives us a fair shot. I do not hate Glenn Beck.

Would you rather Hannity or Beck be the #2 national talk show host? I'm all for promoting Beck to #2 over Hannity. Viva El Becko!
