Comments from Obama's possible AG pick.

"The court has really struck down every government effort to try to regulate it. We tried with regard to pornography. It is gonna be a difficult thing, but it seems to me that if we can come up with reasonable restrictions, reasonable regulations in how people interact on the Internet, that is something that the Supreme Court and the courts ought to favorably look at. - May 28, 1999 NPR Morning Edition "

I guess you aren't old enough to remember the clinton years and Janet Reno. From Waco to Ruby ridge groups that were thought to be right wing were targeted. Anybody that hits gun, survival or self sufficiency sites could be targeted again using even more powerful tools of DHS.
"Right wing militia" was a very big bad word to the Clinton whitehouse.

Are you serious? The idiot "youth" who voted for him don't care about Obama's proposal to require all 18-25 year olds to report to a 3-month Federal indoctrination camp, I doubt they'd care about this.

Anyway, I don't think it is so much about "regulating" the internet as much as it is about "taxing" it, as evidenced by the legislation passed last year requiring all online financial transacations to be reported to the IRS.

Yea, "send price signals to modify behavior." Tax the shit out of it and raise it so high that ppl can't afford to use it.
