I just got an email from the McCain campaign saying they were shutting down "McCainSpace.com" soon and that we should join their new site instead. Big surprise-- they're trying to capitalize on the "Revolution" marketing of the Ron Paul movement.

I took one look at the site and decided RP fans need to stir it up a bit. Not necessarily to cause trouble, but because it might be a good way to engage McCain supporters and get them thinking about their positions, what it used to mean to be Republican, and what the really important issues are.

So if you want to add one more social network to your list, please join my group, let's make it the biggest one and make a statement!

The biggest group right now has 16 members.

Our group should have 100-200 members by the end of the night.

Be a part of it.

Well if we can change the platform back to small, limited government and more libertarian positions, then they may have a tough decision to make.

To be perfectly honest I think we're coming at this problem from the wrong direction. We're trying to play the statist instead of understanding as we should that power comes from the bottom up. Taking control of leadership positions within the Republican party will do nothing to make the Republicans believe as we do. The only thing that could accomplish is to destroy the Republican party. The only way to "fix" the GOP is to change the minds of it's members. I have a hard time believing that is possible.

I find it gets easier and easier to talk to the rank and file.

The trend is that people are self-identifying themselves as independent. This administration saw people leaving the GOP in droves, the next will see them leaving the Dems... As far as I am concerned we should be reaching out to the disillusioned from across the spectrum. Using the skeleton of the GOP as a framework makes sense to build a powerbase. In that sense, we are not re-building a carcass, we are reshaping a philosophy...

Political parties morph constantly. They are never static. And now the GOP wants to change and are asking for input. Let's give it to them.

Thanks for your support everyone, glad some of you are on board with me!

I think this is something we have to do if we're going to get the GOP back to its roots again (yes I know not everybody agrees with trying to get it back, but I do.) Much to the dismay of the McCain supporters, I'm sure they love the RP stuff I'm putting up all over the site! :-D

The site is using Ning.

Here is the developer page: http://developer.ning.com/

Any ideas to improve this 'Revolution', or is this for the site owner?

.. joined.. I'm really disturbed by the number of Palin groups. ... there's more people signed up as Palin supporters than Paul supporters. Is that really the future of the GOP??? If so, then the GOP will be a "third party" by 2012. I have family members who have voted Republican their entire lives and voted against McCain because of her...

Thanks to everyone who joined, we have 23 members now, which means we have more than the "George W Bush Supporters" group but less than the "Sarah Palin Fan Club" -- come on let's go, this should be easy for the RP spammers!

I didn't say anything about that. I meant "our flock" in terms of philosophy. Thanx for giving me the opportunity to clarify. :)

They feel the same way about us. So it stands to reason that if we flood the GOP meetings then the ground level neocons will get mad and stay home.

Indeed.

Somebody made a "bad foreign policy" comment on Malkin's site either this morning or yesterday. Nobody attacked them, and several commenters agreed. A big change from a year ago.

This is just part of what we should be doing. Not only GOP dedicated site, but we should also look for Democrat Party websites and work on them. It is important that we send our best over to explain and show people, in a calm and proper way, that they should keep an open mind about a variety of topics, all while educating them to the truth that a majority of the MSM keeps from them.

Party name should have no importance. We have the big picture in mind.

Wait, what??? I thought the word revolution scared the pubbies...

not when that word - once associated to RP whom they ignored- can get them new supporters.

a buddy of mine heard me playing a video of Jesse Ventura at the Ron Paul convention back in Sept 08. He heard him say that keeping our guns was a right and not just used for hunting. then ventura said it was a revolution.

him being a hunter got him pumped up and after those fews seconds of video he is now Pro Ventura if he runs in 2012. That one word / hunting got him on board. and as usual he said the ticket for him was Ventura / Ted Nugent in 12. I hunt to BTW but i also study more than a few seconds of audio to form decisions about things.

I told him Paul was also the same on this issue and had been using Revolution for 1 1/2 years now. he looked confused and dumb like.

a few weeks later, he votes for McCain.
