Even though this is weird to some, since i'm canadian, I am thinking about getting a "Don't Tread on Me" Tattoo on my left Pectoral, with no color, just dark ink.

I have enormous respect for the way in which the American Constitution was formed, and I LOVE the concept of Liberty and individuality. It's sad to say but i have more respect for the founding principals of the US than i do for the formation of my own nation. "Don't Tread On Me" symbolizes that i want to be responsible for myself, and not be forced to live in the way my Government instructs me to.

I'm pretty sure i'm going to get this tattoo, but i was just curious what other suggestions some members might have for a Liberty related tattoo. Anybody here got any Liberty ink done?

This would be a cool tatoo to have circling your arm below your shoulder

Just my 2 cents.

As soon as I have the money to get a new tattoo, I'm planning on getting the rEVOLution logo across my chest. There's also a cool Liberty/Freedom ambigram tattoo I would like to get. It says Liberty and if you turn it upside-down it says Freedom.

Here's a link where you can see the Liberty/Freedom ambigram:

if you do get tattooed, PLEASE go to a PROFESSIONAL tattoo studio... i've seen SO MANY bad rEVOLution tattoos online it makes my head spin!!
Look thru portfolios and see clear photos of healed tattoos...
Don't just go to the cheapest, or closest guy to your house with neon signs in the window...

I'd really consider any tattoo (except a military or prison one) to be a liberty tattoo. That was the main reason for getting mine, to affirm self ownership.

i agree with this but also dont pay too much

some artists will rip you off huge i had an artist want to charge me 900 dollars for a one hundred dollar tattoo on my forearm once payin a premium for a good artist is differant from being screwed over

my advice is talk to friends and strangers who have work ask where they had it done how much it cost and whether that was a typical price for the artist or they got a deal cause they are friends or somethin

spending time choosing an artist is time well spent

I think your money might be better spent stacking.

Excellent. From Wikipedia:

Ama-gi is an ancient Sumerian word thought to denote "freedom" or "liberty." It is believed to be the first expression of the concept in writing. Literally translated, it means "return to the mother," inasmuch as former slaves were "returned to their mothers," (i.e., freed).
The Ama-gi cuneiform symbol has been adopted by some libertarians and free-market anarchists, among others.
The journal of the Hayek Society at the London School of Economics, the largest libertarian student group in England, is titled Ama-gi. The symbol is used as a logo by the Institucion Politica para la Libertad of Peru, and another version is a trademarked logo of the publishing firm Liberty Fund, Inc.

I am also thinking of getting a "liberty" tattoo that reflects my more militant leanings...... Right now I'm thinking of a pair of "crossed rifles", an AK47 and M4 with text under it that reads "Live Free, or Die". In plain black of course.

anything is better than the ole:

I have 5 tattoos so far, I trust my tattoo artist and I get good deals since I'm a regular. I'm not worried baout getting ripped off or getting a crappy tattoo. He's professional and reasonably priced.

A word of caution. Tattoos are a personal choice that should be made with much deliberation before committing to any design, etc. Having said that, I got two tattoos, one on each forearm, when I was 16 years old. One was bugs bunny and the other was a skunk with "no body loves me" written below it. They looked really cool at the age of 16 but as I grew older they looked juvenile and rediculous. Needless to say I had them removed many years later. Two tattoos that originally cost 10 dollars -- five dollars each -- cost me 3000 dollars and three years of pain to remove. They do not wash off when you get sick of them. Ouch!
