The whole purpose of the bank bailout push through was to sour the mood of the public enough to build enough resistance to the auto bail out. They will allow the Auto sector to tank as it will begin the breaking of the Unions through out north America.
They will blame the evil unions and have the public pull their trigger.

Welcome to the front row of the destruction of the middle class.

Remember - this is all engineered.

breaking the unions.. . ?

shoooo.. go read up on the Employee Free Choice Act that Obama promised he'd pass. If they let the Auto industry fail then the unions will just move on to more fertile ground. Look at all the national retailers and fast food joints that are non-union. Once EFCA passes they'll be targets for unions and the employers will have a very hard time stopping it.

Look at how Walmart handles unionization - In Canada they will shut a store down on a whisper of it. On Two different occasions when there was talk of the employees unionizing they just flushed the whole store.

As for unions moving on, they will, but the middle class positions are still gone.

It is funny how people are for a tax payer bailout if it is their favorite industry.

Wait, we want unions now?

Not me. I'm in the no union crowd. Unions use government to destroy the free market.

What about 500 stores? .. Trust me, the execs at the major retail chains are watching EFCA and have been lobbying against it for years. It was the sleeper issue of this election. .. that, and the retirement of a huge percentage of government workers in the next 8 years.

Naaah, with the Democrats firmly in control of the gubment the unions are very, very safe for the next 8 years. They might lose the auto industry, but it's time they move South anyway.
