I was thinking about two socialists that I know, a friend and my Dad. Suddenly, I realized that both have used the phrase, "but what can one person do?" when discussing politics. That's when it hit me. This statement which we've all heard is a socialist calling card. If you examine the statement, it is discrediting the value of the individual (what can one do).

If you carry the logic further, if the value of the individual is low, then the value of the greater good must be high! Whether they know it's a socialist calling card or not is another question. However, I bet that those same people will knowingly agree with socialist policies without a second thought. We've got to start calling these people out for what they are. Wow, this is starting to freak me out. I feel like the next time I hear that from somebody, I'll have to put on these:
