The Detroit City Council passed a resolution today calling for a $10-billion bailout for the city of Detroit.

Council President Pro Tem JoAnn Watson sponsored the resolution to use the money for public service employment, to fund mass transit plans and to place a moratorium on home foreclosures for two years.

That works out to over $10,000 PER RESIDENT.

I need a bailout for my student loans. I'm sure the government could do that for me. That's what it's there for, right?

PAST TENSE.

Already gone, Jobs have left the State and the country. Long ago.
Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the country.

Some of us already know this.

I am far north of Detroit, I have been filling out applications for 3 years.
Still unemployed.

I was referring to the few remaining plants in michigan. Then ohio will go down.

The current situation is a direct result of years of Democrat (socialist) control of this state.

This will (is) happen(ing) in city after city across the country. It's not just the Federal Government that's bankrupt. Once basic services start getting interrupted, you can expect to see civil unrest increase.

Kwame just cost the city 9 or 10 Million. I don't think the government is going to give them 10 bIllion. Detroit Politics are a circus. These people are so corrupt.

Yup.
Think of it as New Orleans north.

And people wonder why the UP wants to secede.

Well, there's a great example of unsustainability.
