Kucinich would be the most solid vote for any office dealing with foreign policy. (He's already on some of the lists.) He agrees with RP on foreign policy, and happens to be a Democrat.

I think Chuck Hagel, Colin Powell, Bill Richardson and Ron Paul would make awesome cabinet members.

Ron Paul would make a good sec. of state personally, hes so friendly with ALL countries.

Fuck Chuck Hagel. I'm from Nebraska, and that prick is only famous because he's a Republican and speaks out against the war he voted for. He supported No Child Left Behind, farm subsidies, the Patriot Act (AND it's reauthorization!!), and the $850 billion bailout package.

He sucks balls dude, and is only famous because he speaks out and criticizes Republicans for a war he fucking voted for. He's a quack and I'm glad his ass retired from the Senate not that his alternative (Mike Johanns) is any better.

He's idolized by Nebraskans and famous across the Union. Why? I have no clue. The guy has a voting record identical to any Republican or Democrat on the biggest issues.

From a strategic perspective, I think it makes sense for Gates to stay on. However he wants to deal with the 2 wars it makes no sense to shake that appointment up.

Department of Defense was Originally called the Department of War.
Department of Defense now forces the will of the ruling elite on the rest of the world.
Homeland Security forces the will of the ruling elite on the domestic population.

I don't think so, though I could be wrong. Here on our state level it isn't required- just a good knowledge of law and a willingness to listen to your staff, essentially the tools of any good administrator. There is in fact a whole lot to be said for not allowing any particular profession to steer its own public ship without guidance from outside that professional body, and the bar has had their own way on this for a long time in this country. That's led to abdication of judicial restraint and prosecutorial discretion, and the notion of selective enforcement to fit the actual needs and budget of our society is all but completely dead. In short the bar has been given an ongoing blank check to grow its system & numbers, and when push comes to shove big gov't is their bread and butter. Then, on top of all that, we choose to elect them to the legislative and executive branches of state & federal gov't in numbers wildly disproportional to their incidence in society.

When choosing between candidates I either loathe or like about equally, membership in the bar is always to be considered a red flag for the fan of small gov't.

Just write in Ron Paul. Adam Kokesh, Peter Shiff, and all the others are great revolutionaries, but they are not going to show up in the poll much less win it. Secretary of State: Thomas Sowell
Homeland Security: Michael Scheuer
Treasury Secretary: Ron Paul
Attorney General: Judge Napolitano

my choices:

defense: pat buchanan
state: ron paul
homeland security: absolutely nobody
attorney general: andrew napolitano
treasury: peter schiff

I figured I'd add a few more appointments just for fun since these are positions I think should be abolished:

transportation: chuck yeager, face it, he's the chuck norris of the sky. he'll get the airports and airlines running properly
commerce: this dude http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ3oHpup-pk. catchy jingles will get the economy running
education: one of those homeschooled 13 year olds that wins a spelling bee, they know what's up
energy: willie nelson
